Why does it have Danville as #1 when they just got beat? Khsaa website has to fix it.

    I would say the 3rd/4th rounds would look like this in the WEST: LCA at Catholic Mayfield at Somerset Winners play each other Round 4 I think Round 4 in the EAST would look like Belfry vs. Beechwood

    True. To that end, if you think there is a clear top three, then finishing #1 is an advantage because you will only play 1 of the top 2. If you are the 2 seed, you could possibly face both #3 and #1 i

As previously posted in other threads, BW is in “district free fall” and it will continue next week. Suspect a slippage to 4th by year end and there is nothing they can do about it. If seeding for the home game in later playoff rounds is important for BW they cannot continue to take the out of state hit playing (and winning against very good Ohio teams).

I don't know for sure on Beechwood. For example, if Simon, Campbell, and CovCath all win next week I like what that should ultimately do for Beechwood but again I don't know.

@Oldercoach posted this in another thread:

LCA running clock by mid-2nd qtr. LCA will be #1 RPI at playoffs and the differential will continue to widen.

=============

Is that correct? Will LCA be number one? And how will the top five finish, anyone?

LCA will easily win out against a 2-6 district game and a weak PRP(6A game value enhancer) so their WP will finish marginally above 1.0 despite two strong losses to Boyle and Lexington Catholic. Currently, #1 with a very strong early schedule that gives them an OWP that dwarfs the other top 5. Their OOWP is basically right there. So my swag calculation is they finish #1 in RPI. Haven’t looked at the other teams closely, but it looks certain to me that Danville can do no better than #5 (if that). I suspect OCath moves up to #2, Mayfield #3, and Beechwood falls to #4. No computer to do the calculations, just my best swag math.

Thanks OC and for the record, do you have a math background?

👍 Got to confess I really struggled when we upgraded from the abacus to those new fangled slide rules.

Based on this estimation then Beechwood would be on the road for the semifinals?

Most likely unless there are upsets.

LCA is 1. Then if I am Beechwood, I would prefer 4 over 3, so I wouldn’t have to drive to Western Ky.

LCA’s losses are to CAL and Pulaski County not Boyle and LexCath. They did not play Boyle this year and beat Lex Cath.

Beechwood’s 6a week 10 game will help them. It’s just a matter of how much.
