I think Somerset is a dangerous team. They gave Beechwood all they could handle in a pre-season scrimmage and won that scrimmage on the scoreboard. They could surprise some people at playoff time.

Yes, put Somerset in mix as well.

The 3 are Beechwood, OCath and defending champs LCA. Don't know much about Somerset but if they played Beechwood well in preseason scrimage then include them as 3A. Make no mistake its a 3 man race and Mayfield will be another 3rd round exit which we can't start making that be our norm but has been our exit the past 2 years.

I would say the 3rd/4th rounds would look like this in the WEST:

LCA at Catholic

Mayfield at Somerset

Winners play each other Round 4

I think Round 4 in the EAST would look like

Belfry vs. Beechwood

For those who study RPI, what impact does Beechwood and LCA having played 5 games and others 6 impact the numbers? Will getting a win against a district opponent add to their RPI numbers when the others have their bye week?

Additionally for any math whizzes, assuming both OC and Beechwood win out, which team gets the #1 seed?

I.M.O. Beechwood is hurt in RPI due to having a much larger district vs. OCA. However; if Cov Cath wins this week vs. Highlands will be a big boost for Beechwood.

For those in the know, from a RPI point standpoint, will Beechwood be hurt for playing an out of state team as the season progresses?
