Well Boyle came out and fought the second half. 21-13. That's a plus. 1st half was an old fashion butt whoopin!

@TheConfluence , I know you are new around here 🤣.... I took a picture of G a few years ago at BGP Headquarters! This is pretty much his set up every Friday Night.

  • Looking through the photos two things jumped out at me. The NKY officials clearly are not enforcing the knee pad rule and Boyle County holds a lot.

That is not true. 1995, Dennis Johnson of Harrodsburg HS was ejected against Paris HS. He played the following week. I was the HFC at Paris the night he was ejected.

Boyle looked more like themselves in the second half. Potential Rematch will be some primetime football watching.

Is it possible they play each other in the state championship?

What an absolutely great night to be a Bluebird!

They certainly passed with flying colors my benchmark of "must be competitive ".

So many things to be impressed with:

Armstrong's legs

Lorenzen's power

Kremer's shiftiness

What about the Birds D, shutout Boyle in 1st half giving up only 2 1st downs!

I have watched a lot of Birds games in the Sphire era, this might have been the best offensive play calling game of the Sphire time. If not I would love to go back and watch a better called game. I don't know if you can find one.

Am I mistaken to say ZERO turnovers?!?

Not a lot of big penalties, Birds played smart and focused!

Enjoy tonight, you deserve it!!!

Wake up tomorrow ready for Ryle!!!!!

Wow, Lorenzen leaps into the end zone for another TD!!

Mr Football!

The Birds looked excellent in all facets of this game. Huge statement win to put 4A on notice!

Congratulations to Highlands, big and impressive win last night.

Boyle is a total different animal with Driver back on offense and defense. Then you have the other players that didn't play because of injuries, a healthy QB with this extra week off and the sting of a loss make the Rebels a very difficult opponent from here on thru the championship.

Agree! Truly wanted to see Driver play. Not often you get to see that level of player play in person. Highlands has hosted Kyle Rudolph and Micheal Mayer which are for sure best 2 TE's I've seen in person. Just different animals. Would love to have seen Driver. Hopefully we get to see a rematch down the road. Both teams obviously have to take care of business to get there.

Seneca Driver is Boyle this season. Having a D1 commit not play causes a huge void, obviously. But I don't know if they would've won this game with him in all honesty.

Not only is Seneca a D1 commit, he is listed as a 5 Star recruit. He makes such a difference on both sides of the ball. Boyle will be around in December to take on the best of the rest. Boyle was missing some other key players last night as well as the QB not at full strength.
