Favorite "Football Sayings" & "Football Terms"

I heard one of my favorites today. One of my high school O-line coaches used to say it all the time about how we needed to know our scouting reports inside and out and have all of our audible line adjustments down to second-nature so we weren't hesitating once the ball was snapped: "Slow minds make slow feet."

We had another coach who used to yell, "Well.....we're just ate up with the dumbs today!" when everybody was just having one of those practices.

What are some favorites of yours?

"Think with your brain, not with your stain'

~ Some pee wee Coach I had.

I remember hearing, "We can't just show up at Ludlow, throw our jockstraps down, and say we win."

The Pigs get fed and the Hogs get Slaughtered; you gotta put the work in boys!!!!

One of my all time favorites!

"You have to have that burning desire'

The standard is the standard and it takes what it takes.

Film don't lie.

My favorite, use it today: "The difference between good and great is the little things".

"Are you hurt, or are you injured?"

"The defense has two additional players, Sammy and Sunny Sideline". "And, they don't miss a tackle".

"You're not hurt, rub some dirt in it.”

Any attempt to circumvent the word filter with general abbreviations or text message abbreviations will also be considered a violation under this rule.

I've seen several use it over the years, but one particular coach at PT a few years ago lived by it. "Pain is weakness leaving the body".

My family has had a running joke about it since and we use it often for a variety of things where it probably shouldn't belong. There's some funny scenarios if you stop and think for a minute. You can apply it to so much!
