Cubs 7 Cincinnati Reds 6 (10 innings)

Brock Burke walked Michael Busch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th as the Cubs walked off the Reds for the third straight game.

Terry Francona had elected to intentionally walk Seiya Suzuki to load the bases and bring the lefty hitting Busch to the plate. It was the second intentional walk of the inning.

That’s three straight walkoff losses for the Reds, and four straight by one run. The Reds (20-17) have dropped six straight, and 7 of 8.

The Cubs have won 14 straight at Wrigley, and go for the four game series Thursday afternoon.

The Reds are 1-8 vs the NL Central.

Leading 6-4 in the 9th, and with Emilio Pagan placed on the IL earlier in the day, Terry Francona turned to Graham Ashcraft to save it. He served up a game-tying two-run homer to Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Trailing 4-2 in the 9th, the Reds scored four times to take a 6-4 lead.

Two runs scored on an Elly bases loaded sac fly, with Matt McLain hustling home as the second run.

The Reds had 2 on with no outs in the 10th and couldn’t score.

For much of the night, it was a clinic on how not to play the game for the Reds. They put runners on the corners with 0 outs three different innings.

But they scored just once, thanks to little league baserunning.

Moment of the game: Tejay Antone, pitching for the 1st time in over 750 days following a 3rd Tommy John surgery, tossed a 1-2-3 8th with 2 K.

I think I would rather have Brook Burke than Brock Burke on my team.

They can save a little face with a win today, but this is beginning to look really ugly.

How does a major league pitcher walk in the winning run? I would rather see the pitcher allow a grand slam than a bases loaded walk.

I agree with you.  It's not a problem for the Reds, they just can't throw strikes.

Well the Reds do it again, they lose 8-3, falling fast. Reds gave up 7 runs in the 4th inning.

I am curious how far back you would need to go to see the last time the Reds go 0-7 on a road trip. Especially in division.

That is the worst road trip in Reds history IMO.

The Reds were in first at the end of April and before starting this 7 game road trip. Now the are in last place in the division.

I thought they would come back to earth at some point, didn't expect the crash landing.

Well no sooner than I typed the above post it is now 4-0 Astros as Alvarez hits a two-run homer in the top of the 6th.

Astros 5-0 after 8.

9-0 Astros in the top of the 9th, still no outs Santillan gave up 2 home runs.

Trevino is now on to pitch.

Astros up 10-0 after 8 1/2 innings.
