This is just a formality. I just saw Coach this past Saturday. He will still be the head coach at Ludlow.

He did. McMillen started the WV program, and then after the first varsity season, he had to step down. Coach Barth then was the head coach for the next 16 years and won many district titles and a regi

Any word on who that guy was? Or hints on who you thought you heard was their guy?

I would still be very surprised if it is not coach McMillen.

I know someone who interviewed about a month and half ago with their AD, I just know he didn't get it.

Assuming McMillen is interested, I wonder if Barth applied?

I’m kind of surprised by this and not.

Would have to think they are working on the Woody paperwork to get him back. That's the only reason the job posting is still there. I don't believe they are going for an "outside" hire. If they can't figure out Woody, then Barth probably steps in. This job was never really open.

Football fields should be green.

Now get off my lawn, ya darn kids!!

I wonder if Ludlow is 'moving slow' and interviewing, to make sure it doesn't appear that they broke the rules by having a handshake agreement with Woody about his returning?

I know nothing. Just assuming.

There was no handshake agreement, it was made clear by Coach M that he would love to be back. The school wanted to have him back, but no promises were made by anyone.

Is there still a 90 day rule for people who retire from Teaching? Maybe that is the slow process here. Coach may not be allowed on the school campus for 90 days depending on when he did his retirement paperwork.

Man that red....I still don't know about the wisdom there with it, BUT, that picture from above make it look really good. I'm starting to question my original judgment lol.

Yes. And he retired around Thanksgiving, so the 90 days was up by the time they posted the job.

I don't think that is the case at all. As we learned during the Scott opening, technically schools aren't supposed to hire new coaches until after February 1st. So that is probably why Ludlow didn't post it until February. So they followed state rules, and it allowed them to open up the position to others to see if there is anyone they may think is a better fit, and possibly for a longer term. If not, then it also would allow them to hire back Woody if they felt like he was still the best candidate, since his 90 days would be up. So I don't see anything fishy here, and more so just putting themselves in the best position to hire the best person they view for the job. Rather it be someone new who applied, or it be hiring coach McMillen back who has done a very good job in his 3 years, and should have a really good team these next two years.
