I find it hard to believe Trinity wouldn't play CAL or Boyle.  I mean, why not, both programs are excellent, they are close, they would be better for RPI, and it opens up games on all levels.

I would guess it’s the train of thought of if you win, no big deal you’re supposed to win you’re Trinity.

I, as well as many others in the Trinity world, would love to see a Trinity-Boyle matchup. I think it is great to see the best teams in the state matchup regardless of classification. Maybe not every year, but there are programs under 6A that have just as much tradition, passion, and talent year in and year out like the top-tier of 6A (T, X, Male, etc.).

Never said that. Was purely responding to the post about a Trinity-Boyle matchup.

Here is what I said on that matter earlier. It would likely be a good game and would be fun to see.

2025 state championship rings are finally in!  CAL will have their ring ceremony after their last spring practice this Thursday.  Great way to wrap up spring practice.

Up to #3 in another national ranking.  Looking forward to seeing this 2026 CAL team play.

He's breathing rarified air for an in-state recruit on the national stage. Not many Kentucky kids have had numbers like that attached to their name. Tim Couch comes to mind, but I'm struggling to come up with another one.

I’m thinking this CAL team will be their best in the last 5 years, but I admit I’m biased.  Don’t be fooled if their first 3 games aren’t running clock games like last year but it won’t be because CAL isn’t better but instead because Pikeville, Owensboro & LCA are better than last year’s teams.

 

Add another top honor for Ja’Hyde Brown.  Super proud of this young man.  It’s wild for me to think that I coached his dad when he was in high school, now my son is teammates with Ja’Hyde & I get to watch him make play after play every Friday night.  PS, sorry Julian but Ja’Hyde is much better ?

I think if you are Trinity you play these teams like Boyle and Cal to shut them up and prove you are and have always been the best in the state. I can’t imagine a coach at Trinity thinking I don’t want to play those teams because I might lose.
