I believe that Boyle wins. Franklin County likely puts up a good challenge and Boyle will separates themselves further as it gets later into the game.

That’s some long time pent up frustration. Good for you for letting it out. Cheers!

  • Boyle has played a MUCH tougher schedule and will be the best team Franklin County has played by a wide margin. You can’t say the same thing about FC for Boyle.  FC’s defense is tough, but I thin

Something is going to give as both teams have a 95.23% winning percentage with a 40-2 record the last 3 seasons.

Boyle's losses where to Lexington Catholic (25) and Covington Catholic (24).

Franklin's losses where to Paducah Tilghman (24) and Boyle County (23).

I think Boyle comes out fired up and the train keeps rolling down the tracks. Boyle 42 Franklin 14

I have seen probably 20 teams proclaim their freshman class as best in the state. Know what happens? Reality begins to rear its ugly head before their junior season. Coaching, player maturity, injuries, transfers all begin to change ranking of players and team potential. Franklin Co. should be very aware of this with their experience with Moorman that was touted as an all world up to his Junior season. Then other players caught up to him. They became stronger, faster and he didn't improve. I am sure you have good freshmen. So do most of the teams you have to compete with. You have to take care of business now and the near future, not 3 years down the road.

Just to be clear, I am not associated in any way with Franklin County.  I’m just an educated, informed observer.  I told @thegurulast year that that essentially Pulaski County was a dark horse with good days ahead due to their young talent & here they are this year one game away from a title.  Ironically enough, Northern Pulaski MS has won a few MS state titles in recent years.  I said on this message board, that early in the season 2 years ago, when Trinity switched QBs to FR Zane Johnson & a lot of people were calling for Coach Cobb to be canned, if they would just be patient, they would be rewarded because Zane Johnson & his fellow freshmen were that good.  Here we are & they’re going for a 3 peat with that same QB.

Sometimes it’s actually pretty easy to project talent.  Kids like Jacob Savage, well those are no brainers & you could see it when he was a 7th grader.  I’ve been at this a while & don’t pass out compliments like the one I did for the freshman class at Franklin County often, so as long as they stay together, which is always a big if no matter what school it is, that talent pool DOES HAVE state titles in their future.  That is my opinion, but here are two FACTS I’ll give you….the 2023 Elkhorn 7th grade state champion team was the best 7th grade MS team in the state & it wasn’t close.  The 2024 Elkhorn 8th grade state champion team was the best 8th grade team in the state & it wasn’t close.  Take that for what you want.

I think it will be a great game. Boyle County is Boyle County, they are a tough out for anybody and have been on an incredible run. Franklin County is impressive and in my opinion an underrated squad. Hopefully we'll see another exciting matchup like the 2020 championship where these two programs went to overtime.

Where is Delano Collins going for college or what kind of offers does he have?  He is an impressive player.

Boyle by 4 td's.

I don't think its 4 touchdowns right off the bat, but I could see it getting there a la the CovCath game.

As of Tuesday afternoon on the thread polls for all six state championship games Boyle has the smallest margin of all 6 polls at 72.15%.  Trinity (80.22%), Owensboro (75.29%), CAL (85.53%), Owensboro Catholic (78.13%), and Raceland (78.18%) all have a higher percentages.  Now, what's interesting is in the BGP pick 5 contest where the winner's grand prize amount starts at $250 and a weekly $100 the votes are casted much different.  Currently Boyle has 91.17% picking them in the contest.  I found this very interesting!
