I really hope that KCU keeps recruiting strong locally in the future. We have a lot of talent in this area, that doesn't always get noticed.

This KCU football program is offering what no other football program can to incoming freshmen, a chance at substantial playing time. This coupled with the recruitment of a lot of local players can only create a positive football atmosphere in Grayson and Northeastern Ky that hopefully will result in a successful program much like their basketball program that all in the area can be proud of along with giving the local players a chance to continue their football careers a little longer while earning a college degree close to home.:thumb: :thumb:

After speaking with about 5 boys that have signed, all are in agreement that the way they where recruited showed a coach and his staff that was concerned about their future. They didnt want to see boys slipping through the cracks and not getting an outstanding Christian education. While playing football they will be receiving fellowship and guidance. All said it was a family atmosphere. We will be proud to buy tickets and watch our area boys come together and play football for this area. I personally feel like they are in great hands.

Here is a nice editorial about KCU's first recruiting class.

If you go to http://www.kcufootball.com there is a link to a great interview with Coach Damron by Morehead State radio. He sounds very high on the team and has some pretty high goals set for the program. He also used the interview as a way to reach out to the community and brag on the school. I don't think KCU could have picked a better coach.

By the way, please pray for Coach Damron's father, Dick Damron. He had surgery a couple days ago to remove a cancerous mass on his stomach. They removed the mass, but found that it has spread into the top of his small intestine. Dick Damron is a legend in the area. He coached the KCU basketball team for many years, winning 4 National Championships. He is also a history professor and minister. He is a great man and a huge part of KCU. Please pray.

Our prayers are on the way for Dick and the Damron family.

Just confirmed......Andre Brooks from Mercer County Senior High will be playing football for Kentucky Christian. Great addition to the roster. Andre is a hardworker and will give you everything he has on and off the field. He is an excellent student and tremendous role model. Good luck, Andre!

By recruiting this kind of class KCU has definately positioned themselves for a strong base in the future. I also can see them selling a bunch of tickets each weekend because most of their kids are local.

Great Job!
