I ask school officials about the numbers and they said they were true. The information came from the state fire marshall. Maybe an investigative newspaper article needs to be done to show the truth. It is el gato who is putting out false information.

What is the actual cost, for a school hosting a Regional tournament in 10th Region.

Revenue Items

Ticket Sales

Broadcasting

Sponsorship

Expense Items

Game Officials

Trophies

Travel for Participating Teams

Other Itemized Expenses: Police/Security, Parking, Official Scorer, Official Scorekeeper, Hospitality, Janitorial, Administration and Signage

Net Profit =

15% Allowance to Host =

Amount to be divided by 17 10th Region Teams =

Got some information on this from a person "in the know."

The 8 participating schools are guaranteed 4500 dollars. The remaining profits are divided up among the remainder of schools and based on the past few years at Mason, it has totaled around 1200 dollars. ( I was incorrect on this earlier and the boys are different from the girls in the revenue sharing of regionals.)

That means the profits total out at an approximate $46,800.

Just a thought! If this new gym had been built in Carlise, Falmouth, Mt. Olivet, Augusta, or Brooksville I would be willing to bet this coversation would have never been started. BUT, because it's Montgomery Co. it's now all you ever hear about! IMO it sounds like a little jealously issue.

By the way, I'm not from Mason Co., I didn't graduate from Mason Co and I have no ties to that school. BUT they do have one heck of a program and a nice facility that I have enjoyed attending the 10th regional tourny in for MANY years! Don't let the name fool you.

Robertson Co is getting the money to build a new school maybe they will build a gym bigger than Montgomery Co. Then in a few years everyone can debate taking the tourny to Mt. Olivet!!! :D

I think Clark deserves to hold it before Montgomery Co. Clark's gym is bigger than Montgomery's and has been around longer.

You can't be serious! I hope that was a joke.

The law of supply and demand would indicate that if people are being turned away at Montgomery county then they could raise the price of tickets

Montgomery 4408 x $6 =$26,448

Mason 5200 x $5 =$26,000

Money problem solved!

I have never thought about it like that. I think that is a very good point and it still wouldn't be as much as I've paid to watch some tournaments elsewhere!

School officials from what school? Mason Co.? What would you expect them to say? Call the school officials at Montgomery Co. and I'll guarantee you they'll tell you the capacity is over 4400, just like I've been saying. I have posted no false information on this thread whatsoever! You proved your credibility when you said that Clark Co.'s gym is bigger than Montgomery Co.'s.

I don't care about the new 8.1 million gym, but what I do care about is the 10 cent football and soccer field!

Are the fields that bad?

Identifying the actual number of spectators this new gym can hold should be easy; just base it on the overflow crowds in attendance to watch the Indians host Augusta, Deming, Bracken Co., Menifee Co. (twice), Bath Co., St. Patrick, etc.

I'm positive they do it. They also get their dues paid as well. I guess the boys tourny accumulates more money than the girls.

Let it go to Mt. Sterling next year and fail. When everyone gets hurt in the wallet, then it will come straigt back to Maysville where it belongs. If Montgomery Co. wanted it that bad THEY SHOULD HAVE BUILT IT BIGGER!!!

Fans don't really care as to how nice the locker rooms are BUT if they drive a hour or more to a game and can't get in then I'd say someone will be dealing with alot of mad fans. And yes there were MANY mad Pendleton fans turned away 2 years ago.

They couldn't have built in bigger, buddy. There is a new regulation in KY limiting the size of any new high school gyms. Believe me they would have built one that holds 5,000 if they could.

Some of you Mason County fans have caused me to do something I thought I would never ever do. Root for GRC.

:scared: Hey I have cheered for the Indians.:thumb:

It doesn't matter where the tourny is held in the region. The simple fact of the matter is that fans will be turned away at some point. We are talking about the 10th region. Certain fans will be upset no matter. I think it is funny that people talk about how well Mason Co. plays at home in every other thread except the one dealing with the regional tourny site where they don't seem to have an advantage.

If we're going smaller because everyone is afraid of Mason Co I still say let's just move it to Mt.Olivet. When you look at a map, you can't get a more central location and surely everyone's not afraid of Deming's home court advantage. The heck with the fans and the money, let's everyone meet in Mt. O. It sounds like the perfect solution to me. :ylsuper:

For Darius Miller's senior year, I'd say they could play the games on the street in downtown Paris and it wouldn't matter.

If that is where those districts decide to be the best site, so be it. Maybe one of their churches have a fullcourt.;)
