Just play the 10th Region Tournament in Morehead or Memorial Coliseum!!! That way no one will be turned away and you dont have to arrive 3 hours early to get a seat!! As far as money goes these other programs dont need the money!! Except maybe one or two!! The baseball and football programs have plenty enough money(They get out and work for theres) Youi can also play the games at NKU or EKU!!! Its past time for a change!!

I'd be all for this, but I don't think the powers that be would ever vote to hold the 10th region tournamnet in a county outside of the 10th region. It's unfortunate that there isn't a venue like these located in the 10th region. I've heard some talk of NKU building a new arena. Anybody have any info on that? When it might happen and how big will it be?

Wow!! Jahearme, that's a beautiful facility. Doesn't look like there's a bad seat in the house.

Like I said before I would gladly make the trip every year if the region could be held at a neutral site such as that one. The gym looks great inside and out. Great pictures.

Anyone know whether or not they have started construction, and if so, when is it supposed to be completed? Looks very nice!

Could you imagine if North Carolina hosted every single ACC tournament, or UK hosted the SEC every year, or if the football finals were always at Male high school, or if the Hawks always hosted the NBA eastern conference regional final. Or if the Cleveland Indians hosted the ALCS every year. Wouldn't that be crazy.

Wasn't the SEC in Atlanta and New Orleans about 10 years in a row? Ole Miss, Georgia, and Mississippi didn't dominate did they? UK has won the SEC more than anyone, and when (if ever) has the SEC tournament been held at Rupp?

The SEC is either held at a neutral site, or it at least rotates among multiple teams. My point is no one school gets to host that or any sort of post season tournament on their HOME floor EVERY year.

This is what should and does happen in 99% of the tournaments in basketball (the 10th region is an exception).

The last time a SEC tournament was held on a member school's home floor was in 1993, when KY won it in Rupp. It was also held in Rupp in 1986, and KY won that one as well. The SEC currently has a rule that the tournament cannot be held on a member school's home floor, and since 1993, the tournament has rotated between the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, the Super Dome in New Orleans, the Pyramid in Memphis, and the Gaylord Center in Nashville. During that time, no site has hosted more than three straight years.

They've started it, but I don't know when it will be done.

Part of your arguement was travel time. When is it going to be in KY? It isn't fair that KY has to travel and some teams don't.

In the 10th region there is a huge tournament. They hold it in Maysville because it's the only school anywhere close to big enough. It's also relatively central and that's been proven time and time again on this site.

You lost me there....I never said anything about travel time. But since you brought it up, based on this statement, I assumue you would agree that it isn't fair that every other team in the 10th region has to travel and Mason Co. doesn't.

My entire arguement has always been about FAIRNESS. It simply is not fair for the same team to host the regional tournament on their home floor every year for nearly 40 years. Now there is another gym in the region capable of hosting it. Is it as big as the Fieldhouse? Not exactly. Is Mt. Sterling as centrally located in the 10th region as Maysville? Not exactly. Are these issues as important as creating FAIRNESS for the kids involved? At least in my opinion....NOT EXACTLY!!!

I have one question about the new NKU gym. I know that NKU is in Campbell Co. and that there are some Campbell Co. schools in the region. However, dosen't the campus technically set in the Ft. Thomas Highlands school district? Which is part of the 9th region. Would this cause a problem as it is not technically in a 10th region school district? I am wondering how that would work.

I don't think it would matter. Heck, you've got coaches up there that teach at one school in the district and coach at another school.
