I’m not a fan of Scott Co not trying a field goal at the end of the 1st half. Is this due to the kicking game not being there? If that’s the case they obviously had to throw to give them two shots at the end zone with no timeouts.

Their kicker can definitely make that field goal. They called a one route play and were hoping if it fell incomplete they’d get 2-3 seconds left to decide where to go next.

Issue came when there was 3 men defending Emongo and it was now throw it, or run out of time. Ellison next season maybe has the knowledge to throw it to the dirt there.

Lorenzen finishes the year with “22” Touchdowns! Can’t make this stuff up…

  • If not you will get penalized all the way back to Georgetown.

  • In my very biased opinion the NKOA has the best officials in the state. They won’t put up with any shenanigans. If it’s an issue then why doesn’t Coach McKee just put an end to it? I want a clean and

McKee couldn't go out on the field and tackle Lorenzen! Nobody was stopping him!

Kids a beast. I actually didn’t think SC played him that bad, he’s just that good.

McKee in his time definitely could have. Not sure if you’ve ever seen McKee, he’s bigger than Lorenzen!

They lost by 7 to Woodford and would have won had they had 30 more seconds, and lost to Highlands by 14 in a game that they could have won if they put the ball in the right players hands.

Why would I believe this team can’t beat the other top 5A teams? Everyone seems to think Woodford is the best in 5A yet they lost by two yards.

Give Emongo the ball and you can beat anyone in November/December simple as that.

Emongo should get at least 20 carries a game. I don't understand why they don't feed that kid the rock.

Heck, the Bird faithful wanted to change the defense last night. ?

They did.  Went from even to odd front.

I am just having fun, JOAT, congrats to Highlands and great job coaching the second half.

They over complicated their play calling  process. Therefore, they failed on key downs and didn’t put up enough points.

Has SC coach made any statements after the game? Interested to hear his take.

Minimal impact as SC sees that regularly, remember they rushed for over 400 yards.  The game changed when the Birds decided to give Lorenzen the ball and pound it.  Once Highlands got ahead SC started throwing and the So. QB went 1 for 9.  Game over.  Congrats to the Birds for a really nice win.

They rushed for all of those yards on 3-4 plays?  Defensive change certainly had impact.  Put more kids in position to make tackles.  Remember that Highlands was ahead 14-0 and Scott County moved the ball at will.  At end of day it doesn’t matter.  Highlands got the W and big boost to RPI.

The Birds were a bend don’t break defense last night. Against an offense you can’t prepare for, 100%, in 3 days of practice. Birds are the class of 4A in my opinion.

Highlands special teams aren't really special Two TD's on KO's returned.

The return men for SC were burners for sure.

There were no kickoff returns.

Didn't they lose to a 4A team, that was playing their backup quarterback?

Yes they did. I have zero attachment to any team but my Breds. Like my dad used to say (I'm 43) I see better than I hear. If the Birds stick offensively what they did last night, they’ll be fine.
