Didn't they lose to a 4A team, that was playing their backup quarterback?

One point loss on the road. Plus that was the game Lorenzen didn’t get the ball for some reason.

Lorenzen finishes the year with “22” Touchdowns! Can’t make this stuff up…

  • If not you will get penalized all the way back to Georgetown.

  • In my very biased opinion the NKOA has the best officials in the state. They won’t put up with any shenanigans. If it’s an issue then why doesn’t Coach McKee just put an end to it? I want a clean and

Minimal impact as SC sees that regularly, remember they rushed for over 400 yards.  The game changed when the Birds decided to give Lorenzen the ball and pound it.  Once Highlands got ahead SC started throwing and the So. QB went 1 for 9.  Game over.  Congrats to the Birds for a really nice win.

The big adjustment on the defense side of the ball was moving Issac Neimann who was at safety the first half and first drive of the second back down to linebacker. With Gabe Williams out at Safety Issac’s open field play ability was appealing coming down from safety on a team that runs the ball 97% of the time. Ultimately if you go back and watch there was a huge difference with him at LB sealing the edge compared to the first half (hence why they stopped going to #9). I would’ve loved to see Gabe Williams healthy in this game because I don't think Scott County has over 150 yards rushing if that’s the case.

SC not getting over 150 yards rushing is unheard of.

Agreed and maybe that’s a little exaggerated, it would’ve just looked a lot more like it did in the second half with #2 at Linebacker and #1 at Safety . Keeping Cash Harney under 100 yards is unheard of as well and they did that 3 weeks ago (17 yards) butttttt… Williams was healthy(ish).

Plus QB going 1 for 9 and missing so many open receivers is unprecedented.

Scott County effectively lost the game because McKee called a bad second half. He’d be the first to say he did. Emongo touched the ball I believe once maybe twice after the first half.

He got too cute with the play calling. Highlands made adjustments yet he called the second half identical to the first half.

Nothing to really worry about, I believe this team will be playing at Kroger field still. Go Cards!

Assume you are referring to offensive play calls?  I think the bigger issue was the defense's inability to stop the run in the 2nd half.  ScCo's offense is fun to watch and difficult to contain.  Highlands went more to a man-to-man in the 2nd half, and they seemed to be more gap sound.  They weren't getting out of position as much.  All in all, it was a great game to watch.

McKee only calls offense, so yes. Both were true, but SC got one more possession than Highlands. If they cash in and got the ball moving using their better players, they more than likely win.

Still maintain dropped passes and missed open receivers (1 for 9) were major factors.  Maybe Lorenzen was saved for the 2nd half, but he is a game changer.
