How did emongo play? Didn’t see his name much on the thread.

Scott County effectively lost the game because McKee called a bad second half. He’d be the first to say he did. Emongo touched the ball I believe once maybe twice after the first half.

He got too cute with the play calling. Highlands made adjustments yet he called the second half identical to the first half.

Nothing to really worry about, I believe this team will be playing at Kroger field still. Go Cards!

Lorenzen finishes the year with “22” Touchdowns! Can’t make this stuff up…

  • If not you will get penalized all the way back to Georgetown.

  • In my very biased opinion the NKOA has the best officials in the state. They won’t put up with any shenanigans. If it’s an issue then why doesn’t Coach McKee just put an end to it? I want a clean and

Forgot to mention how inferior Scott CO’s kicking game was.  Lack of leg strength (?) gave the Birds great field position every kickoff…short kicks to 25/30 yard lines surrendered near midfield position after short returns.  Only to be outdone by terrible punt game.  Did any of their punts go 25 yards?  Maybe, but just was shocked by how weak their overall kicking game was.  Is this the Cards norm, or is someone hurt?

They lost their kicker who was also their punter to graduation. I believe their kicker/punter is pretty young. As you can see they aren’t even trying to kick it deep on kickoffs. The kicker doesn’t have a running start he just put his leg into the ball from a standing position.

In the Cooper game they’ll try an onside at some point during the game. May as well.

I’m not a fan of Scott Co not trying a field goal at the end of the 1st half. Is this due to the kicking game not being there? If that’s the case they obviously had to throw to give them two shots at the end zone with no timeouts.

Big factor is QB fumbled snap on both those last two plays.  On the interception (last play) SC had a wide open receiver but I am not sure QB had complete control of ball at release after picking it up off the ground.  Just look hurried and disjointed.

On the long run to start this series of events. I was told the running back could’ve scored for SC. I was on the total opposite end of the field and SCs entire sideline leaned out to look blocking my view. If true that’s also a big missed opportunity.

A great regular season for the pesky Blueburds of Fort Thomas. I believe this team can beat anybody in Class 4A.

With that being said, the one team they do not want a rematch with is my Blue Colonels of Cov Cath. Mark my words.

The knock on Scott Co. has been that they can't win the big game. This year, their biggest win is against a BG team starting a FR QB for the first game of his career and missing a Mr. Football-level WR.

Since that win, they have lost the next two "big game" opportunities they have had to Woodford and to Highlands, and have a head-scratcher of a blowout loss against Madison Central. What indicator do you have that they are a legit contender, even to make it to the Championship game?

They lost by 7 to Woodford and would have won had they had 30 more seconds, and lost to Highlands by 14 in a game that they could have won if they put the ball in the right players hands.

Why would I believe this team can’t beat the other top 5A teams? Everyone seems to think Woodford is the best in 5A yet they lost by two yards.

Give Emongo the ball and you can beat anyone in November/December simple as that.

In contrast to that argument. Highlands has proven multiple times this year they don’t blink often In tight games. Only loss to a Ky team was 1 point. that's how you make Commonwealth stadium in December, not well more time here, better play calling there. The Bird faithful have been critical of play calling all year and yet they win more tight games than they don’t.

Heck, the Bird faithful wanted to change the defense last night. ?

This is how you win a 4A state championship. Credit to Rio as well on 8/9 passing and a perfect deep ball on the flea flicker.

Kremer ran the ball really well again averaging over 5YPC & had some nice returns on kickoff.

Pound for pound…Scott Co. is best 5A team in the state.  The problem is they were not as big as MC, WC, or Highlands and there lies all 3 of their losses.  Second major shortcoming is their kicking game.  You can’t give shortfields consistently to good teams and they did that to WC and Highlands.  Did not see the MC game.

McKee couldn't go out on the field and tackle Lorenzen! Nobody was stopping him!
