And if folks think that is unreasonable, ask anyone that followed CAL PREPS for years who knew that their analysis and projections were true and accurate even after 2 or 3 weeks into the season.

I would love to see the KHSAA contract with https://hsratings.com/ (formerly CALPREPS) to determine seeding. 

I would also be onboard with a hybrid of hsratings and TP94 Power Ratings.  No matter what happens in the future, using RPI is a disservice to Kentucky High School Football.

Cannot argue, but KHSAA goes the RPI route because it is 100% mathematical and zero subjective.  Right or wrong, coaches know all the crazy factors/penalties/benefits in advance when setting their non-district schedules.

In a vacuum maybe but losing close to Trinity and losing to "Whatever County" surely aren't the same.  Same with wins.

I respectfully disagree.  With having two year contracts that are usually signed a year in advance, how is a team like CAL supposed to know in 2024, that a historically strong team like Bowling Green is going to finish .500 in 2025 or even 2026?  that's just an example.  That factors into RPI.  As a coach, you setup what you believe is a strong schedule & then hope that it is.

I reverse engineered 2024 RPI ratings from KHSAA website and mocked up potential 2025 RPI ratings.  Can't wait to see how close I get whenever KHSAA decides to honor their commitment of Week 5.

Won’t argue, certainly not an RPI fan.  But, don’t forget that play up boost Cal got in playing BG.

I'll add to this: today is Sunday of the first round of the playoffs. There were two games played last night (both featuring small schools) and everything else played on Thursday and Friday, yet the Class 5A bracket (which had a three-team tiebreaker) has still not been updated. It isn't the end of the world, but that feels like a pretty important piece to have straightened out.
