Garcia to the Bears?

Featured Replies

Garcia wouldn't mesh in Chicago, but in my opinion they should get rid of Grossman ASAP.

Garcia was a Pro Bowl QB in San Fran, he was also very good this year in Philly. Surround the guy with some talent and he produces.

The reason he was so bad in Cleveland and Detroit is because he was on awful teams. No QB in Cleveland or Detroit has had success in the past 10 years, it isn't just Garcia.

:thumb: Very true.

It would be a disaster. As we saw this year, Garcia is effective in one system, and it's a system not being used in Chicago...

So hire a new OC to come in and run that system.

Lovie is a defensive minded coach and obviously the entire offensive unit at Chicago is very sub-par.

It would require a total skill position overhaul. One or two years of Jeff Garcia isn't worth it. And the West Coast would be quite interesting in Chicago in December...

I could see it working if they put in a lot of PA role out stuff, but I don't see that happening.

Why? I'm pretty sure the RB's and WR's are capable of it.

It's a timing and short route offense and it's not suited to what they have. Moose could run the #2 WR spot, but Berrian is not a West Coast #1. Jones and Benson aren't fit for the system at all...

Got ya. I think Moose would be primary and Berriman would be the 2. I also think Berriman could be effective in the West Coast. I wasn't sure about Jones and Benson catching passes, but the recievers IMO could adjust.

With Mike Martz as Offensive Coordinator, it would be hard for any QB not to put up good stats....

That is true! But I was just commenting on when you said no QB in the last 10 years have done anything, and that wasn't true because Kitna did have a good year...:D

Garcia is a true competitor. I have loads of respect for him because he is so tough. While Phily is a next to perfect for him (minus McNabb) I could see him working in Chicago with a few tweaks in personal. I know I'd sure love to have him over Grossman if I was a Bears fan....

If I was the Eagles, I wouldn't want to get rid of Garcia. It is very reassuring to have him behind McNabb in case of any injury. You know that you can still make a run at the Super Bowl in the NFC with him.

I am sorry but how in the world can you drop a QB who took his team to the Super Bowl? His numbers were better than Bens last years well maybe not in INT's but come on give the guy a break. Ben just had a much better supporting cast around him. Should Pitt fans have called for his head because of the way he played in Super Bowl 40? Not a chance beacuse the rest of the team got it done and they won. Look at what the Colts D line did to the Bears. He was never able to step up in the pocket or plant his front foot and follow through. The big boys up front are WAY more to blame than Sexy Rexy. Get some linemen who can block and then lets see what Rex can do!! Garcia should not be a thought in Chicago. With that said who cares the Bengals are going to win it all next year!! WHO DEY

I think that McNabb to Chicago would work better..

Is McNabb a better fit in Chicago than Philly?

I'm sure it wouldn't happen but he's from Chicago, he would probably love to go back home.
