I think Elder is as good or better than Ryle so I'll go with Elder by 10.

  • That is my beef with CCH, throw the ball downfield.  If you keep running Cash like that I fear he will be injured.

2022 is the only time Cov Cath has ever hosted Elder. I'm not sure why we've ended up heading to The Pit so many times without having any hosting rights ourselves but I mean, yeesh, we definitely have

With this schedule CCH could be 1-7 going into the last 2 weeks of the season. Maybe 2-6.

This is looney tunes. A team that returns most of the starters who went to Boyle County and won is gonna go 1-7.  Disrespect was used in an earlier description of this, but I will say nonsensical and ridiculous to be very kind about it and move on

I think the Colonels strike some fear into the Panthers

As a someone born and raised on Cincy's West-Side with many friends still die-hard Elder fans, I can assure you, the Panthers don't have even an inkling of fear regarding the Colonels.

The Highlands faithful on here also do not seem that fired up so that is still a possibility.

CovCath would and should have beaten some of the really good Central teams in the past and this year's Central team is definitely down.

The disrespect is crazy. The Colonels, even in their down years, have always been a tough out! The JV team wouldn’t go 1-7. They quickly calibrated against Ryle even after being down a couple touchdowns. Sure, Ryle was better, but this team will surprise this season. Never underestimate Cov Cath.

I think for the bulk of us the only "surprise" to us would be if CovCath does not get at least to the semi finals in 4A.

As a Die Hard Colonel I would totally agree with this.  However, if there was a Colonel Team that could go into the Pit and pull out a W, it would be this Colonel team.  I would also say no one on the West Side is taking this game or this team lightly by any stretch either.

I think the Colonels win a close one. Just my Opinion....

I remember all of the talk a about Boyle beating us and look how that turned out!! These boys are tough!'We beat them Freshman year by 1 point when Dylan Gaiser was QB. I have faith in Dylan and Cash, the dynamic duo, along with the rest of the team!!

I like it. I, and I’m assuming alot of nky guys that work in Ohio, work with enough Elder guys to get annoyed during football season. Especially when elder is playing a Kentucky school. Let’s go Colonels.

Elder would run laps all over Ryle.

Should have an idea if that's the case once we see how Cov Cath does against them. If Elder blows them out then they would probably run laps over Ryle. If close game then probably not.

I mean Ryle ran all over Cov Cath last Friday and Elder’s OL is a lot bigger and they are better than Ryle. Games are won and lost in the trenches and idk how Cov Cath OL and DL are going to be able to hold up.

I don't know what Elder would hypothetically do vs Ryle, and it is immaterial really.

I, however, do agree with you that CovCath vs Elder will be largely non-competitive.

Elder used to pay teams to come to the Pit, much like big colleges would pay small colleges to come get beat down on.  Not sure if they still do or not, but that was definitely a reason in the past.

Elder is also notoriously difficult to work with schduling wise.  That's one big reason they have such a difficult time trying to fill their schedule.  They say things like, "your stadium is nowhere near large enough to handle our fans."  Too many teams essentially said, well then, go pound rocks if you won't play at our place.

If not pay, they at least split half the gate.  The gate of a 10,000 person stadium can be pretty sweet.  Half the Westside shows up to the game so you know… not a bad deal for a visiting team.  Hell, visiting teams may make more on this away game than playing at home.
