Love to have him back!

Real good coach:thumb:

Isn't his Mason County house still vacant?

Johnson Central has to be the worst place to try and lead a program, especially if you are from outside the area. If you are not in the click or don't get along with the old guard that's already in charge, then you will never be successful.

Sorry to hear this, if it's true. If you hire someone to coach a program, why is it that they can never do what they are hired to do?

Of course, I'm only speculating, but what else could it be?

This is exactly what happened.

Unfortunately clicks and the bigger programs go hand in hand, at least with the 1 or 2 I'm familiar with.

Hey there will be a job available at Greenup County. Great facilities (4300+ gym), nice student body to draw players from, tradition of winning (well that's past, but who knows??). But, there is that whole nasty political battle you have to face.:fight: Starns is a good coach he'll land on his feet soon. JC is much like GC it takes a special person to withstand the garbage that is thrown your way. It's a shame that Starns couldn't keep it going. I wish him the best.

A good coach would have to be an idiot or pretty desperate to go to Greenup.

Man the last coach that left there (Trimble, I believe)-was'nt he another vitim of what have you done for me lately--but this is even worse.

Boy there must be some crazy folks at JC, takes the team to Rupp in his first year and now out. Coach Starnes is class and he will be just fine. Its Johnson Central that is the big time loser in this one.

Got to agree with Soda, 1st year head coach taking team to Sweet Sixteen. Two previous trips with Mason County, helped Pitino with his teams, and helped Mason Girls team his last year in Mason County. I definitely think JC is the loser.

Before one assumes that he was fired, I think the full details should be known. It may be that he quit of his own free will to pursue another opportunity. Nobody knows for sure yet.

Anyone notice there's two threads on the issue, with many of the same posts?

yup

Before we all go bashing the administration at JC, lets remember that Coach Starns did "RESIGN". It sounds on here like he was fired. Until all the information comes out I'll reserve judgement. I will say that he is a great guy and a great basketball coach and he will be successful were ever he ends up.
