16thBBall Fan Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 The Cats (22-10) will take on #4 seed Alabama (24-7) in the last quarterfinal game of the day. It should be a good one. The Cats really need Butler to be able to play I think to have a shot against the Bama guards. Hey we once again won a game in the SEC tournament it had been a while. Go Cats!! 1
Jumper_Dad Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Not a good match-up for UK especially with Butler likely out tomorrow. I can see Cats running out of gas in the second half after the emotional game they played against Oklahoma. 1

Kentucky Windage Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 The SEC needs to start these games earlier. UK's game last night ended after 1am. They probably didn't have heads hitting the pillow until 2/2:30 this morning.

In fairness to last night, the 2OT game messed up some of the scheduling. But as I've noted repeadetly, college basketball has a major problem with game lengths. Set aside the late start, the UK game last night was just under 2.5 hours. This is becoming the norm, though I am not sure the powers that be can wrap their head around the fact these games are lasting just as long as NBA games, who play 8 minutes more a contest. 1

sportsfan41 Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 As expected, Butler is officially out for the game tonight.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 15, 2025 Author Posted March 15, 2025 Tip should be just before 10:00 tonight a lot better. Florida just defeated Missouri 95-81.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 15, 2025 Author Posted March 15, 2025 I am not sure what else Carr could do to draw a charge. I thought it was a bad call by Doug Shows!
16thBBall Fan Posted March 15, 2025 Author Posted March 15, 2025 My goodness so far, the man-to-man defense has been horrible! Bama has gone 0-4 from 3 and 6 of 7 on layups. The defense is going to have to get a lot better or play some zone and just hope Bama is not hitting tonight. Chandler and Perry are going to struggle guarding Sears and Philon. At the under 16 media timeout, it is tied at 14.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 15, 2025 Author Posted March 15, 2025 Another terrible call not counting that basket by Doug Shows! It was one last night for Oklahoma! At least it did not cost us 2 points.
Randy Parker Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 Replay caught Pope singing that old Salt n Pepa song "Push It." 1
Randy Parker Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 We might beat Alabama 3 out of 10 times with a full roster. Maybe 1 out of 10 as we are now. 1
