I seen an article in the Lexington Herald that said Urlacher was once voted the most overrated player in the league by his peers. The next year he was the unanimous vote for Defensive Player of the Year.

IMO, he is definitely not overrated and is on his way to being one of the best MLBs in NFL history. A comparison of his stats through his first 7 seasons were made in the article opposite Ray Lewis and you'd be surprised whose stats are better.

If I can find the article I'll post it, but I'd like to know what the rest of BGP thinks about Urlacher being overrated.

Nor do I.

2/3rds of the Earth is covered by water, the rest is covered by Brian Urlacher.

Yes I know it wasn't original but is still sounds cool.

He moved from safety to LB, and has become one of the MLB in the league.

But, it was the first time I'd ever heard it....

Is this thread a joke ? He's a typical hard nosed, hard hitting, all over the field linebacker. One of the top 3 in the league in my opinion. He makes tackles all over the field every game. My favorite thing about Urlacher is that he doesnt dance after every play he makes.

Urlacher is definitel a stud. Quick, strong, agressive, and one of the best defensive players in the NFL IMO.

 I used to have a Deion Sanders poster when I was little that said that.

What a joke. The game after those surveys speaks volumes....It's a popularity contest...

Read the article and you'll see why I posted the thread.

In no way do I think he is overrated, nor have I ever. But somehow, someway, someone came to that conclusion.

I really started this thread to make sure all of BGP are of sound body and mind.:D

I'd never heard that before either...but I will definitely put that in the memory bank.

If anything he's underrated!

:thumb: I agree, I would put him on the list of one of the best LB's of all time. Urlacher imo belongs on the list with Butkus, L.T., Lambert, Hamm, Ninschke(spelling?) and Singletary.
