Most fun game to watch of the whole day.I had been looking forward to watching Elliott Co all season and this was my first chance. Really impressed with both teams.I just wish Elliott could have hit those free throws at the end. GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

Great job Tigers now it's one down three to go. Good luck against Bardstown and Elliott Co. good luck the rest of the way hope to see ya in Rupp.

Best game of the day. You just can't beat a good team without hitting free throws. Elliott's big three played well but the supporting cast looked a little overwhelmed by the atmosphere. Not surprising for sophmores and 8th grader who had not been in that situation before.

Ferguson was on the court alright. He scored 12 of the 14 Elliott points in the first quarter. However a friend of the Ferguson family said that the ankle was swelled so much, and was so sore that they could hardly get the wrap off of it. It was evident by watching the game and looking at his stats as the game progressed he was in a lot of pain and could not perform as he normally does without an injury. Lucky for Paintsville!!!!!!!!

Great ball game. Difference in the game were free throws down the stretch and Paintsvilles's decision to go to the match up zone in the fourth quarter.

I did not appear to me that Ferguson was 100% although the Elliott folks were not making any excuses as Paintsville is respected as a quality team.

Haven't seen Ferguson play since this past summer and where it looked to me the ankle was a problem was in the paint. He was definately favoring the ankle.

Good luck to Paintsville the rset of the way!!!!!!

Ferguson came out strong, but it was obvious he was playing in pain that got worse as the game went on. A very gutsy performance by the young man. No excuses. Paintsville hit the big shots and made their free throws. They got a well deserved win in a very good game.

Would a healthy Ferguson have made a difference? We'll never know. It's hard to play in pain, but you have to give him credit for giving it the effort.

According to a post by Homeless Camel Elliott only scored 4 points from 7 minute mark to :58 to go in the 4th Q. P'vlle stepped up the "D"on the big 3 & almost let the 2 other Elliott players alone. One Elliott kid had numeous open shots but would not take them, do not get me wrong he played very hard & had a really good game otherwise. Like Bogey Man said earlier possibly just overwhelmed. While Elliott could not score Maynard is sitting on the bench watching the game with the coaching staff! I kept asking myself why is he not in the game? Why not do the "Offense-Defense switch" like most good coaches do. Even if he does not touch the ball his presence would at least draw some attention & free up a little more for the Big 3. Once he did get in the game with

Let’s hope for the sake of the fans in Sandy Hook that the young Lions don't have one of those traditional post All 'A' flops. In the past Elliott seems to have had some hangovers from playing in the small school state championships. Last year they didn't make and thus had more hunger and desire leading to reaching the 16th region title game. You can't help but root for the Lions as their fans are some of the most dedicated around.

I don't think this bunch of kids has the make-up to pull a post tourney flop. I've watched them since the third grade and the play every game with all they have. They are usually younger and smaller than other teams put stay competitive through goood basketball sense and pure determination. I've got to agree with Millhouse on Maynard. Why he didn't get more minutes is beyond me. There were a couple of kids on the floor who looked a little lost offensively and defensively at times, especially when Paintsville made its run to the lead. Maybe he could have provided a spark, but we will never know. I don't know how it could have hurt to try it. Great game by the Paintsville players and coaches.

They have the "Dean of Coaches" on the sidelines don't they? Seems like he would've noticed that the younger players were a little out of synch.
