At this juncture who really cares how old a kid is.  This has gone on for years and is no different now.  Ages had zero to do with the game result last night, period end of story.

  • Dixie 14 Ryle 7   Great game, very physical battle.

Still one week left open. Last year they scheduled Harrison (OH) in Week 2, so we'll see if that stands again for this year.

Per Arbiter, Campbell County's freshman team will be playing at Bryan Station on Wednesday, Sep 3 at 6:30pm

Cov Cath's Hudl schedule shows an open date on Oct 16th. Last year they played Scott in that week. No word on whether or not that will be the case this season.

Looks like Scott has a game scheduled against Walton-Verona for October 16th (I missed that initially in your post above @futurecoach). I wonder if the Colonel freddies can pick up a game against either the Boone County or New Cath froshmore team...or St. Henry even. I wouldn't mind seeing them take the challenge and head off against one of the GCL teams either, for that matter.

I haven't heard much talk about Cov Cath's incoming freshman, but @NKY-guy mentioned in another thread that there's evidently a really solid player from the Bandits youth team named Kiyan Miller who is going to be incoming as a freshman. I took a look at the Hudl roster that's been populated thus far for the freshman team. Donovan Eviston, I would assume is Eddie's late-brother Brian's son. Some other last names I recognize: Hanser, Shields, Hennessey, Erpenbeck, Collins, and Woolf. Love seeing the next generation of Woolf boys coming through Cov Cath.

Yes Kiyan Miller was a very talented youth player and I hope to see it translate to the high school level, he is also a reclass. Brandon Smith Jr. and Jamir Kirkley are another 2 that are going to be good ones for the Colonels. Kirkley is also a reclass. I could see Smith going D1.

The Freshman team was already beyond loaded again winning the GCYL Big School Championship so this could prove to be a devastating team this fall.

I can tell you the pipeline certainly does not end with this incoming class either….

What position does the Miller kid play?

These boys will be fun to watch this year! Definitely some great competitors and the other NKY teams haven't seen them yet since they played GCL past few years.

I think the young Aiden Boh is almost 6’5-6”6 , multi sport stud.

I assume this is him? https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19991237/67b0ce78ed7e1fd1e79542bf

I could see him headed straight to the TE pipeline at his current size. It's always tough to tell at this age since some kids peak early, but the size and athleticism here is nice.

Kiyan has always been a RB & CB if I remember correctly. However, as mentioned, he is a reclass and we all know boys of that age bodies change drastically. I saw him at some basketball games (spectating) last year and he has added some good weight as he was always a skinny, super-fast kid. Interested to see if he kept that speed and if so, will be a big piece to their puzzle.

Haven't seen him play football in a while but have consistently seen him play a ton of basketball. First thing I noticed with the added weight was that he wasn't the same blazing fast kid that he was with the Bandits but he still moves well. Probably his biggest asset in youth football was he could out run everyone. He isn't going to be doing that at the JV/Varsity level.

NKY football this year should feature a lot of great talent across the board.

I know CCH has Courtney playing JV QB, do they have a freshman QB that can sling like the kid in this highlight?

I don't know. I'm not really plugged into the program these days—I just watch the games. I guess I'll find out in about a month lol.

My guess is it is going to take a real talent coming in at QB to beat out Dylan Courtney for the varsity starter in 26. I think he will be very good as a junior and senior.

Agree with your assessment of Courtney.
