That's an average score of 53.3 to 2.6. They started district play with a 63-0 victory over Owen County on Friday. Walton-Verona and St. Henry looked to be improved, but it's just a different level when it comes to the Tigers in 2A around NKY. Probably that way around most all of 2A except for maybe three other teams, so Beechwood might play three competitive games a season (Covington Catholic, the semi-finals and finals). The rest are all tune ups. I would think Beechwood could afford a stronger schedule. Wonder what the stats look like outside their district opponents. Anybody?

As much as I would like Cov Cath to win it all, I thought Madison Central laid out the blueprint for what it takes to beat them. That is to put a team of "size" on the floor that is capable of playing a brand of aggressive, fast and "PHYSICAL" defense (thank you C_W_B) and doesn't experience a bad shooting night. I thought everyone but McGillis pretty much disappeared in the Central game. His shoulders aren't big enough to carry this team alone. Are there any in the 9th region that can do this? I think not. Will there be any in the upper bracket of the state tourney? Probably more than one.

Wasn't in attendance so I don't know what the mascot did when the team ran through the banner, but I did read (Tribune) it is going to be an ongoing home field thing. Also, it was Odom's niece riding her own horse.

Don't know of any schools that beats that mascot !
