As I understand it, St. Henry contacted Covington Catholic and informed them that they were dropping the season opener on December 3rd. Not sure if that's true or not, but that's the word I have on my end.

Also not sure whether the games against Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary and Louisville Ballard are part of the Queen City Holiday Classic that was hosted last year at McNick over in Cincinnati, or if those are part of a possible second year for the Griffin Elite Prep Classic.

McNick usually hosts on those dates before Christmas. I think the Griffin Classic is the the 2nd weekend in January.

Unless there is someone transferring in that nobody is talking about CCH is going to be lacking much height, aren't they? There are a lot of very good, very tall teams on that schedule for a team who may not have anyone over 6-2 or 6-3. Who's tallest on their roster? Is Bradshaw more than 6-3?

Bradshaw is around 6’5.

 

Coming from a Holy Cross guy I think Coach Thelen will do a great job. He is a very well spoken young man and clearly has a great basketball mind and passion to coach at his alma mater. I think The Colonels did a great job with this hire! Great interview.

How did the scrimmage at SK go today?  Any report?  Who were the starting 5 without the football players?

I ran into Coach Thelen on Saturday and he told me the scrimmage "went absolutely great." For whatever reason I didn't have the thought to ask him what the actual score was.

James Weber had some pictures posted on the Enquirer's website from the scrimmages, and photograper Ted Jackson posted an album of pictures to Facebook from the Conner vs. North College Hill (OH) & St. Henry vs. St. Bernard (OH) scrimmages and another album from the Cov Cath vs. Summit Country Day (OH) scrimmage. I saw a lot of Athens McGillis, Nolan Ruthsatz, Jake Stewart, Dylan Lanham in the pictures, plus a couple shots of Teegan Stava and Cash Myers in there too.

Add Harney, Geiser, Bradshaw, and Kruer into that mix and that is one fast, tough, athletic rotation……I’ll take those 10 led by Coach Theilen all day everyday.  Thanks CWB!

I heard Blake Hussey & Logan Wermuth are not playing this year.  Are they both focusing on their main sports (tennis & baseball)?

They aren't on the team roster right now, so that tracks.

How long before you think we see the football players on the court? This weekend’s game?….. if I recall last year, it felt like an insanely quick turnaround…..

Smart scheduling with starting Dec 7th quite possible we see the football players out there.
