Cov Cath was originally scheduled to play at St. Henry on Wednesday, Dec 3rd but St. Henry dropped the game after it was scheduled, leaving our home game against Lex Cath on Saturday, Dec 7th as the season opener.

I know in the past the basketball team has had 2-week period for football players to rest after the end of football season before joining the rest of the hoops team on the court - I know they did that in 2017 and 2018 after the football team played in the state finals. But looking at last year's schedule, the basketball team had Bradshaw, Gaiser, and Harney all playing during the St. Henry game on Dec 5th after the football team played in the state finals on Dec 1st, so based on that I think we may well see the football players in the basketball game against Lex Cath this Saturday.

Noticed Blake is playing JV, at least the last couple of livestreams I've seen. Came off the bench in yesterday's 45-36 win over Moeller; scored six over a couple of minutes in Q4. Smooth stroke and very comfortable handling the ball. 

Not sure how long he's been back, or I've just missed it. Needing minutes and a logjam of SR/JR guards maybe the only thing keeping him off the varsity roster.

I know I'm a few months late to this, but was there a reason why St. Henry dropped it? Didn't know if it was a scheduling conflict or something else. Always loved going to those games—even if CCH won most of the time lol

I never heard whether or not a reason was given.

Thought it was related to the small school "All A" tourney conflict but could be poor memory. Anyone?

I heard it was possibly because St Henry had the ceremony to officially rename their court after Faust night, and didn't want to battle CCH that night, so they elected to schedule a different team to play instead. 

 

No idea if its true or not, but heard from an area AD.
