Tim Krumrie will be announcing the 2nd and 3rd round picks for the Bengals in Green Bay.

Good choice.  He's a Wisconsin native and former Badger.

Lou is a good coach and will land somewhere.  But I agree with him being let go.  The defense was consistently mediocre with flashes of really good play.  That side of the ball here needs a new voice.

Even restructured not sure why resign him.  He was not very productive before his injury.

Especially with Perine back.

I think it gives us a "stable" of serviceable NFL RBs that should be good enough in our offense.  I like it!

Samaje putting in the work!

The latest ESPN Mock Draft has the Bengals taking:

1. Derrick Harmon, DT - Oregon
2. Landon Jackson, DE - Arkansas
3. Tate Ratledge, G - Georgia
4. Cam Skattebo, RB - ASU
5. Zy Alexander, LSU - CB
6. RJ Mickens, S - Clemson

Knowing nothing about the players listed, that looks like the position of need roadmap.

Mo Egger on ESPN 1530 brought up a very good point. He said the number one thing he wants to see for the Bengals is safety - not the position safety but safe picks. No character issues. No reaches for players who weren't as productive but have higher upside. Minimize risks of missing on a player. Take B+ high character guy over A+ talent low character guy.

I heard the Bengals will trade back to get more picks.

That is a tough one.

Corey Dillon forever, Mo Egger never!

Just kidding, I like Mo.

That is what I want them to do. Unless a player drops that you had rated clearly higher than the slot, trade back for more picks. This draft is not loaded at the top but it has a lot of depth from all I am hearing.

The Bengals have drafted so horribly from the middle of the Marvin Lewis regime on (minus the Burrow/Higgins/Chase picks) that I don't trust them with additional picks.  If they traded them for proven NFL players, fine, but not additional picks.

Perception versus reality. The Bengals rank 10th in the NFL in number of home grown picks on their roster. They have been bad in the first round and that is why there is the perception you stated. The Bengals rank very highly in day 2 picks that stick. So trade back from that first rounder and get more picks on day 2.

Probably Joe Danneman, local sports reporter in Cincinnati.
