A win is a win.  Not just need a bit of help from the Chiefs and Jets (oh god, the Bengals are hosed)

Hey I wonder if Pickens is over mouthing to the crowd after the game that he played today! Got to root now for the Chiefs and Jets! We did all we could to win the last 5. As I said at the in Sept. I hope the Patriots game don't come back to haunt us if you win that nothing to worry about.

Like I said, the Bengals weren’t losing this one.

True we might not get in but my goodness the Steelers offense is terrible ! I would be shocked if they are not a 1 and done in the playoffs!

I feel like the Steelers tried to give that game away every way possible and time finally ran out, thankfully.

Here is who got tonight’s game ball: 

The Steelers are just inept.  Well, perhaps that's too strong, but they are stuck in a middling hell.  For a while it looked like this year might be different, but then they settled right back in.  They tout Tomlin's "never had a losing record", but the reality is, that is hurting them.  They are nowhere near good enough to compete for titles, but not bad enough to get picks that matter.  You do not want to make the playoffs just to flush out immediately.  And when they go to Baltimore next week, that's exactly what is going to happen.

Frankly, bringing Arthur Smith in WAS inept.  He fits with their identity in all the wrong ways.  The Steelers, if left to their own devices, will run the ball early, run it in the middle, and run it late.  They showed no urgency at all tonight until very, very late.  Smith is a terrible coach, and a terrible coordinator, living off a couple of good years in Tennessee.

He's very talented, but this is probably the worst I've ever seen him play.  I think calling the first two incompletions "drops" as they did on the broadcast is a bit disingenuous.  Both of them, he caught it, and then the defender knocked the ball from his hands.  An official drop perhaps, but to me they were good plays by defense.  Balls he should have been stronger with, but good plays by defense.  The third one, horrible.  And then Russell missed him on that last throw.  He's basically their only playmaker and he let them down tonight.

Who Dey! Bengals give themselves a chance to still make it. Still hurts thinking about 5 other games they basically were a play away from winning. But hey maybe luck will be on the bengals side and they get what they need tomorrow to make the playoffs.

I can't like this post enough.  I agree on the broadcast, it had me yelling at the TV, supporting Pickens!  You have to call it straight, they have replay, they have assistants, they have time for important updates during the breaks, there is no excuse for that.  Also, I normally like Aikman, and I am not saying he was anti-Bengals at all, but he was lacking tonight.
