  • Like I said, the Bengals weren’t losing this one.    Hendrickson wouldn’t let them.

  • I feel like the Steelers tried to give that game away every way possible and time finally ran out, thankfully. Who Dey!

Somebody explain why Pratt, who can’t cover me, was in the game those last 4 plays instead of having another corner in the game to cover Friermouth??!!

I see the Broncos are an 11 point favorite over the Chiefs.

The J E T S Jets Jets Jets are favored by one over the Fins.

I think Pratt could cover you and Freiermuth is a touch matchup.

From Lance McAlister on Facebook, Lance is so awesome.

Cincinnati Bengals 19 Steelers 17

The Bengals are still alive! Barely. For the moment, at least. They’ve won five straight. They won a second straight one score game. They clinched a winning season (9-8). Now they’ll wait until late Sunday afternoon, needing a Dolphins loss/tie and Broncos loss to clinch the final playoff spot.
The defense rose up for a final seconds stop at the Steelers 40 yard line, aided on the drive that started at the 2:00 mark, by another Trey Hendrickson sack (3.5).
The ride: They led 10-0 after their first two drives. 13-7 at the half. 19-7 in the 4th.  It was 19-14 when the defense forced a three and out with 5:24 left. But the punt inadvertently bounced off DJ Ivey who was in punt coverage and Pittsburgh recovered. A  FG made it 19-17 with 2:39 remaining. The Bengals went three and out and punted at 2:00 mark.

Offense:
Fast start. But red zone struggles: 1 for 4.
Marched 9 plays/73 yards for opening drive TD (Burrow-Chase)
1st opening drive vs Steelers in last 25 meetings (ESPN)
Joe Burrow: 37-46-277. 12-12 start, TD, INT, 4 sacks. Quick/short passes. Constant heat. Driven, facemask first, into the ground, shaken. Checked for concussion. Jake Browning warmed. Burrow returned.
OL: 3 sacks, 4 penalties. Cody Ford started at RT for Amarius Mims, Cordell Volson moved back in at LG. Mims entered late 3rd QT. Then left late for Ford.
As some point this organization will understand and decide that protecting Burrow at all cost is the single most important thing they can do as an organization. Until then, it’s all lip service and coasting on the coat tails of a player they were gifted by be nothing other than the worst team in football.
Ja’MarrChase: 10-96. 17th TD ties Carl Pickens for franchise record.
Tee Higgins left (ankle) early 4th QT.
Khalil Herbert: 20-69, 7 catches/14 yards.
Mike Gesicki: 8-68.
Drew Sample: 4 catches.
Tough sequences:
After Steelers TD, Herbert stopped yard short on 3rd & 6 catch, then 4th & 1 incompletion at Steelers 36.
No points after PR fumble recovery at Steelers 33. Burrow INT at 17.
Only a FG after 4th & 1 stop at Steelers 37 w/ :48 first half.
Settled for 23-yard FG after Burrow/Gisecki could not hook up back of the endzone with 11:02 left in game.

Defense:
Final drive stop with game on the line.
Big 3 and out answer after offense was stopped 4th & 1 Steelers 36.
Russell Wilson: 5 completions until a 4th QT TD drive with 6 completions.
End half: Big 3rd & 1 and 4th & 1 stop at Steelers 37 w/ :48. Led to Bengals FG.
3 and out to start 3rd QT.
Down 10-0 2nd QT, Steelers found life and momentum/13 play TD drive: Josh Newton victimized on 25-yard 3rd & 11 completion, CTB 3rd down PI, CTB 3rd & goal at 6 PI.
CTB team high 11 penalties (Jay Morrison/Bengals Talk)
LB Shaka Heyward (?) nice run stop. 4 tackles, TFL, FF.
DJ Ivey 3rd D pass break up.
Jordan Battle left in 3rd QT (hand), replaced by Bell.
Sacks:
-Trey Hendrickson 3.5. NFL best 16th. No Bengal has led the NFL for a season since the stat became official in 1982.
-Joseph Ossai 0.5. That’s at least a half sack 6 of last 7 games.

Special Teams:
Akeem Davis-Gaither recovered PR fumble forced by Heyward 2:46 left in half.
Isiah Williams KR in place of Jermaine Burton: 39, 43 yard returns.
Cade York 4 FG, including 48 yard FG
Vonn Bell nice clean-up tackle on KR

Hey maybe I could go on and do a Bengals at Bills Predictions/Update thread but I don't know which day and time they will play yet. ??‍♂️

I am not optimistic.

From Who Dey Nation:

I'm 52 years old and been a die hard Bengal's fan since 1982. Trey Hendrickson is by far the best defensive player the Bengals have ever had in my lifetime and really it's not even close. What he has done since he got here from New Orleans has been absolutely incredible. He is signed through next season but if the Bengals don't sign this beast to an extension immediately then they aren't serious about wanting to win a chip. He did everything he could this year and almost single handedly won this game tonight. Trey Hendrickson deserves the bag!

The Bengals luck the Dolphins will lose and the Chiefs and Broncos will tie and the Bengals still won't get in. lol

Hoping for the Jets to come through in the clutch is a terrifying place to be. To say nothing of hoping the Chiefs win on the road with nothing to play for. But the rally by the Bengals in the back half of the year is to be commended, regardless of whether they make playoffs.

And Higgins hurt again, no way I am brining him back, no way.

Get what you can for him.   As they say, the best ability is availability.
