Winter Weather Outlook (January 2025 Super Storm)

I feel like the freezing rain almost always hits Lexington give or take and is almost always just to the south of NKY.

In other news, I just had a Miller Lite, yummo.

After the second shoveling of the driveway, I got into the Yuengling for a beer or 5.

Still getting pelted by the freezing rain.

Look at her little hood.  I bet she's loving it. It does look like she can put her arms down, so that's good.

  • I love watching my southern friends gripe about the "cold" and winter weather. We call this Thursday where I live ?

You earned the beer, good job.

I debating a second shoveling but the road crew will be back pushing snow up against everything and the snow is blowing around.  Hopefully the freezing rain stays away and the snow stops early tomorrow afternoon.

Floating sheet of ice on my truck this morning. I was able to clear the snow from under it.

It honestly wasn’t horrible to clean. I purposely did not clean our cars off yesterday because I knew the ice was coming. I let both cars run for about 30 minutes before I started. Once I got the thick layer of ice off, the snow underneath brushed off pretty easily.

JCPS has already announced they will be closed thru Wednesday.

You had to work today?

US 42 and Frogtown Road in Boone County and the Drone is hovering right over Ryle High School.

AA near California Crossroads heading south (taken earlier this morning). I'll try to get another on my way back through.

I just finished a second, complete shoveling, it is Miller time, lol!  That was no fun and I know I am going to have to do it again tomorrow after all the snow gets pushed around.

It was a very solid storm but I hear what you are saying.

In fairness, we don't typically get large snow events (multiple blizzards in a year though). And obviously, we have the equipment to handle it.

Right, we are short on equipment and people here act all helpless and stuff.  If we got a lot more snow each year, it wouldn't be a big deal.
