These are pretty awesome! Are these Spalding footballs?

No! Team Issue / Big Game. Same company that does most of SEC, Big Ten, etc.

When I go to BG games, I always stop and eat Rafferty's before the game. My personal BG tradition. Lol.

  • Great write-up @Purple88,  I look forward to another run at a state title for the purples!

Coach Chris Seabolt named Director of Facilities for Bowling Green Independent School District.  Coach Seabolt was Associate Head Coach/OC (I think for 5 years) and OLine Coach (I think for 10 years) for BG Football.  This specific new role will not allow him to retain those positions, I'm told.  Therefore, BG will need to find a replacement for OC and OLine Coach.  Let me say here, no one will replace Coach Seabolt, who is a tireless worker, always prepared in advance, and SO dedicated to the tasks and young men he's assigned to.  BG Football will just need to move on, as life happens and I hope this move is in the best interest for Coach Seabolt and his family.  He deserves and has earned that.

Finally, I want to thank Coach Seabolt for the MANY years of dedication to BG Football and the countless contributions he has made to continue to raise the program forward.  Thank you and best of luck going forward Coach Seabolt!

Chris Seabolt Moving from BGHS to new District Role

Chris Seabolt has been named Director of Facilities for Bowling Green Independent Schools. He will move from his role as Guidance Counselor at Bowling Green High School to the district office beginning June 1, 2025. As Director of Facilities, primary responsibilities will include overseeing facilities and grounds, directing all maintenance and custodial services, managing district renovation and construction projects, and overseeing bidding and property acquisition. Mr. Seabolt will replace Rickey Shive who is retiring later this summer.

Seabolt says, “I am honored to accept the position of Director of Facilities with the Bowling Green Independent School District. I look forward to serving our students, staff, and community to the best of my ability.  I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the amazing staff that is already in place in the department.”

Seabolt has 26 of experience in education with four as a Guidance Counselor at Bowling Green High School and has served as a football coach at Bowling Green High School for 10 years. He previously worked as a teacher at Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green Junior High, & as an itinerant teacher at Dishman McGinnis, Parker Bennett Curry, Potter Gray Elementaries.  He has also worked for three other local school districts.

Superintendent Gary Fields says, “Chris has been a leader in our district as a teacher, a guidance counselor and coach. He has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping all students as well as being an advocate for colleagues and someone who believes in the mission of the Bowling Green Independent School District. I am looking forward to having Chris join our district leadership team.”

Seabolt has a Bachelors of Science, a Masters degree and a Rank I from Western Kentucky University as well as an additional Masters degree from the University of the Cumberlands.

Well, the Rafferty's Bowl Decision has been made it official, and I think it's pretty exciting as the games will be held this year at BGHS and not WKU due to stadium conflicts.  BG could really make it unique if they choose to.  See below.  Also wanted to make sure @Colonels_Wear_Blueand @BEChargers saw this as well.

Bowling Green stadium (which is impressive) should have the capacity to host the games. Should give more of a "Friday Night" feel! See you there!

Awesome!  Can't wait to see you there!

I'm hoping they add some things like a Rafferty's Food Truck, hot air balloon (Rafferty's has one) and other little things to make it more "Bowl- like".

They have already added a Rafferty's Bowl 5K run/walk for the morning of the big game hosted at the school... for those of you who, for whatever reason, enjoy running when there is not a coach telling you you have to! ?

Great article by the great Clark Haynes!  You don't get articles like this anymore.  Heck there is even punters average yards in there!  Ha!

I believe the Warren East Kevin Wallace listed is Coach Wallace.  I could be wrong, but don't think so.

Also love the KMart Add!  Went to that KMart many times!  Good ole' days!

Great article here by Jeff Nations of the Bowling Green Daily News who reports for The Paul Gray Media Day where 13 local teams came and spoke to various media outlets regarding their hopes for their upcoming seasons.

Area teams gather for Paul Gray Media Day | Bowling Green Daily News

Interestingly for Bowling Green, Coach Spader still mentions a 3-horse race for QB.  Will be interesting to see who starts in the opening scrimmage vs Oldham County in about a week!

Great article by Kentucky Prep Gridiron's Fletcher Long about BG Senior WR/DB/Kick Returner and team leader Travey Barber:

The Barber of Bowling Green! Is he headed for a ‘Mr. Football?’ @BarberTrevy, @PurplesFootball, @CoachSpader, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball – Kentucky Prep Gridiron

Is he "headed for a 'Mr. Football'"?  I don't know, but I do think he should be in the discussion.

Only one more Friday left (tomorrow) with absolute zero football for awhile!
