Is it time to fire Ryan Day?

Featured Replies

X is blowing up with fans wanting him gone after another loss to Michigan, especially losing as a huge favorite at home.

So is it time for Ryan Day to be fired, especially if he has a flame out in the playoffs?

My question for OSU fans would be, and hire who?

I don't think they will fire Day, but Chip Kelly is already there on staff.

That's the question for sure. But they are really struggling with losing 4 in a row to their biggest rival.

He's 1-4 against Michigan and something like 50-1 versus the rest of the Big 10.

If Day was to be fired I think Kelly would be next in line.

No.

People get too caught up in rivalry games. We all like to give each other a hard time, but are you really gonna fire an 11-1 coach who’s going to the playoff because he’s 1-4 against his rival?

So who is the new pick? Saban isn't coming, Meyer is not a great choice, maybe Lanning?Vrabel? Jesus?..... their fan base would chase Him off if he lost to Michigan.

I wouldn't, but no fan base is more obsessed about their rival than Ohio State is Michigan. Living just outside Columbus and spending a decade living in the middle of the Big 10 and seeing it up close, it's an almost unhealthy obsession with a school they refuse to even say the name of.

They wouldn't fire now, but a quick exit from the CFP and that seat will burst into flames

It’s a psychological thing with the fans.  You yap for 364 days of the year, then have to eat a steaming pile of crow.  The only thing that negates that is a national championship.

There was a time I cared that much, but then I became an adult. ?

I have found that I enjoy sports of all sorts MUCH more once I discarded blind obedience to (and unhealthy hatred of) teams and players.  I still root strongly against the Yankees and the Cowboys, but basically I just like watching athletes who are excellent at their craft.

Have you never heard of "Thee Ohio State University!"?

I like it when the really arrogant fans just refer to them as "The" like it's the only university in America.

My question is why? It’s been a very long time since Chip Kelly was that successful as a head coach.
