Sorry to burst your bubble, but the loss to CAL was not a fluke.  Maybe the wide margin in the final score was a bit more than expected, but I don’t think people realize just how talented CAL truly is.

Tigers OL got dominated last night and the Tiger DL was inconsistent in their push. Winning touchdown was run at Tigers best defensive player… that’s tough. 

Not surprised at all as Big 3 is really probably Big 5 this year and Manual might be last team standing.   Male’s line vs Manuel’s line might be the one to see.  No place for anyone but the real warriors.

As said above, Ryle beat CAL, Ryle lost to X, X lost to Manual. 6A is open.

I apologize, I thought you said Manual’s loss to CAL was a fluke.  I must have misread that.  I should’ve known you wouldn’t be that ill-informed to make a statement like that.

Felt X should have given the ball to Harbin more, none more son on 4th and 1 late in the game when it was still tied.

6A is as open as it’s been in some time IMO.   

It's early, but how do you like your (BG) chances in the season finale? 

X got a little too pass happy for my liking, but the Crimsons stiffened up on the LOS and the lack of explosion plays on the ground seemed to of had the Tigers going to the air searching for it. Tip of the cap to Manual, like most outcomes in this sport that we love the team who won the turnover battle won the game.

HIA, good question.  What I see right now is the X lines would seem to have the advantage on paper and the BG skill guys and QB would seem to have the advantage on paper.  But last year X manhandled BG especially on the X DLine and BG OLine.  Will that change at all this year?  I don't know.  X is very talented defensively especially their front 7.  BG is tough to cover on offense.  I think Deuce Bailey will have to run some in the game to keep drives alive for BG.

Also I look for X to run the ball more vs BG than they did vs Manual and take the Douglass film and try to reproduce it.  Should be a really good game!

You can't control the game if you cannot run the ball and stop the run.  You can control the scoreboard, but not control the game.  St. X has gotten way too pass happy.  I am not against passing the football.  I believe in balance.  But St. X is no longer a line of scrimmage program.  In order to win big, you have to be.

I'll assume "win big" here means state championships. St. X has won three state titles in a quarter century and only one in the last fifteen years. The complaint prior to Wallace was they were too big and too slow to win big. Now they are more athletic and more diversified on offense but can't win big because of the line of scrimmage. Which is it? And aren't they winning about as big as they always have relative to the last 25 years?

Glaser’s last 10 years featured 5 final appearances and 2 wins. Since then (11 1/2 years), there have been 2 finals appearances and 1 win. Doesn’t look the same to me. 
 

You can’t win in 6A football without winning the line of scrimmage. Especially in the playoffs once the weather changes. That is not happening now on Poplar Level Road. Sugar coat it if you want. Facts are facts.

I think the point some are making is St X isn't diversified because they can't run the ball consistently and they didn't give the QB time to throw Friday either. X does not lack big boys with the talent to be really good high school linemen.
