Getting ahead of the gun a little since the new RPI numbers aren't posted. Mayfield up to #2 this week, Beechwood to #3 and Murray to #4. Mayfield now looks locked in at #2 as they will win this coming week over 6A Christian County. A win over a 6A school should be a positive for Mayfield even though Christian County is 1-8. 

Murray is the wild card. Can they beat 5A Madisonville-North Hopkins? I didn't run numbers but it looks like a win could possibly bump Murray up to #3 and a loss could possibly drop them to #5 and LCA moves up to #4.

Looking ahead to the playoffs, it now looks pretty well set. Mayfield will host LCA in round 3. Murray will face Owensboro Catholic in round 2. I don't see Murray beating O Cath.

Assuming O Cath wins, they are the #1 seed in the semifinals and will host the #4 seed, which will be the runner up in the east, assuming Beechwood makes the final four. The other semifinal will either be Beechwood at Mayfield or LCA at Beechwood, depending on who wins the Mayfield/LCA round 3 game.

I talked about the playoff and seeding outlook for the top teams in a post above. Another interesting set of results to watch will be who gets the #2 seed in RPI in the east. 

Currently, Prestonsburg looks to have it but they finally face a team capable of beating them this Friday when they travel to Breathitt County. A loss there is going to drop their RPI. Who can gain on them? Bracken County is going to win this week but that win will drop their RPI OWP because Lewis County is 0-9. I don't see any way Bracken County gets ahead of Prestonsburg. 

Can Somerset jump over both Bracken County and Prestonsburg? Somerset is at Glasgow. Tough game. Somerset has to win to have any chance of moving up. I don't know if that will be enough to catch Prestonsburg if they lose to Breathitt County, but maybe.

No.

Catholic will running clock everyone. The only school with a punchers chance is Beechwood. But this year Catholic road to state will not have a challenge. 

The first 4 rounds will be Catholic by at least 40. Then in the Championship it will be Owensboro Catholic by 21.
