This game was never close.  Reed Sheppard was player of the game and then some with 25 points on 7 made 3's.  Reed has by far been the best of the Freshman so far.   

We weren't playing anyone, but Sheppard was splendid. 

Reed has been the best player so far through 4 games.  His basketball IQ is elite to say the least.

Absolutely, high basketball IQ, very sound fundamentally, plays under control most of the time, sounds like his dad, MVP of the ‘98 national championship!!

If it wasn't so painfully obvious through 3 games, it has to now. Reed and Dillingham have to be the two freshmen over Edwards and Wagner. The major major elephant in the room question now is, will Cal still force those other two in becuase he may have promised them more run time? He's done it multiple times since he's been at Kentucky.

If he stays true to his past I can answer that question for you, NO, especially not the son of a player he coached at Memphis, and I’m not knocking on the kid, I think DJ can be a heck of a player, works his behind off on D, just really struggled shooting the 3 so far, Edwards has been the biggest disappointment for me so far, projected 4th pick in the draft???  Haven’t seen anything anywhere close to that 

Shep has to start and has to play 30-32 minutes for Ky to have a successful season, anyone can see this.

This team doesn't go anywhere unless they get Wagner and Edwards clicking.

Edwards just sits back and lets the game come to him, even going back to Canada. He'll take an open jumper, or fill a lane on a fast break but that's about it.  I just don't see him working hard to get the ball or taking his man when he has it. 

Saw a statistic this morning that Kentucky was average 7.2 turnovers a game, which ranks Top 10 in the country.

DJ has that extra gear to get by folks with ease. I believe once the game slows down he will excel. I think it is too early to make sweeping proclamations.

They've done a much better job of that this year, albeit not against superior competition BUT they only had 8 against Kansas as well.

 

Hopefully that trend continues.
