Top Ten Teams Searching For Confidence Boost Before Playoffs

Records: Ballard (6-3) | Wofo (6-2)

BGP Rankings: Ballard (#7 in 6A) | Wofo (#6 in 5A)

Week 10 Results: Ballard beat Eastern | Wofo beat Anderson County

Series History: First ever meeting

Teaser Preview: Everyone wants to hit the postseason with a gust of momentum at their back. Ballard and Woodford County could both use a boost right now.

The Bruins have come up short in three games against fellow 6A contenders, namely in blowout losses to Male and Trinity. After being in the thick of the championship chase last year, Ballard appears to be a step or two behind this season.

Same goes for the Jackets. They were a legit contender last year, but got dog walked by Scott County two weeks ago. A running clock shutout of Anderson County will not erase the questions aroused by the running clock shutout they suffered themselves a week earlier.

Both could use an impressive showing in Versailles as a final building block for a playoff run.

Would expect Ballard pretty big.

Ballard should roll. Woodford is not a good football team.

Woodford got a taste of what it's like to play a tough schedule week in and week out for the first time in years. It's easy to get up for a big game when you only have one big game a year. The kids are confident, the coaching staff can save some calls for big moments and the kids (most importantly) believe they can win. When a team plays a tough game every week they have to be able to handle the emotional roller coaster of an up and down season. That's difficult for a lot of kids to handle, especially when there is a QB controversy. The coaching staff has to show their cards in order to win games which develops tendencies.

I think Ballard wins big and I could see Dixie Heights beating them in the first round. Dixie is battle tested and has enough to make it a game. Will Woodford be able to handle the pressure of being a big dog and supposed to make a run? I could see them buckling under the pressure

DJ jazzy Jacket, won't have much to cheer about in this event. Expect Woodford to be out of the end zone a lot, while Ballard gets to 35!!

Ballard 28-21.

Haven’t seen Mahki Smith in the stat sheet for a bit.  Did I miss something?

Dixie fan checking in on Woodford. I know nothing about them can someone fill me in?

Smith out for season with knee.

That definitely hurts Woodford.  Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Run a lot of Flexbone/Wing T stuff and some spread/gun.

IMO they look the best out of the spread and it has puzzled me to why it’s not their primary gameplan/set. I have heard they are leaning more towards the more “modern” offense of late, but I’m not sure if the facts reflect that.

Something has changed over in Woodford County. I suspect losing a QB and changing style of offense from previous years has a lot to do with it along with injuries. I am taking Ballard but don't know if this one turns out as bad as most think.

7-0 Woodford with 10:51 to go in the 1st quarter.
