Sad that Beechwood has to play 5 district games and the other top 3 only play 3 district games! Beechwood gets screwed in that aspect! Go Tigers!

Hard to feel bad for Beechwood win they get a free pass to the semi finals every year.

Not considering they will have to play each other in the 3rd RD. The top 3 teams are in the west. I think they should go straight RPI starting 3rd RD.

Here are Mayfield's round 3 games since Beechwood joined 2A in 2019:

2019 - Mayfield 58 Edmonson County 14

2020 - No round 3 for Mayfield; lost to Murray in round 2, Murray lost to LCA in semis 48-13

2021 - Mayfield 48 Green County 6

2022 - Mayfield 28 Metcalfe County 0

Not exactly a gauntlet for Mayfield to the semis.

 

Here are the semifinals since Beechwood joined 2A in 2019:

2022 - Beechwood 48 Lloyd 0 .... Mayfield 38 LCA 28

2021 - Beechwood 38 Mayfield 7 .... LCA 58 Middleboro 0

2020 - Beechwood 35 West Carter 34 .... LCA 48 Murray 13

2019 - Mayfield 35 Beechwood 7 .... Somerset 40 Breathitt County 25

That loss in 2019 to Mayfield is the last game Beechwood lost in 2A. Beechwood also lost to Somerset earlier in 2019. Those are the only two losses in 2A by Beechwood in their 5 years in 2A.
