The big district show down for the number 1 seed in district 6 is upon us. Raceland comes into this matchup at 5-2 on the season with losses to Ashland and Highlands. Paris sits at a surprising 7-0 on the season with big time wins over Hazard, Rockcastle County. This should be a fun and exciting game over at Ram Land.

Who wins this big time showdown for the 1 seed in the district? Does Raceland flex and show Paris they still have plenty of work to do? Does Paris come to Raceland and shock Clasa 1A with another big time win?

I feel like this could be a really good game but in my heart of hearts Raceland and Pikeville are head and shoulders better than the rest of Class 1A this year. I hope Paris gives them all they can handle. Hopefully for Raceland's sake they don't overlook them, or this score could be closer than anyone thinks.

Paris showing the ultimate hospitality lighting up that tower in Raceland Orange.

That win over RC for Paris looks pretty good now, however I think Raceland will be to much.

This one should be one of the games of the week in my opinion. Paris has made a lot of noise this season and after the win over Rock they deserve a mention. Raceland over Pikeville still stands out to me, and I believe that is the determining factor. I think Raceland pulls this one out but I think it will be closer than some can imagine.

This has to be the game of the week for 1A, which I believe will answer plenty questions had by many. I would like to see Paris win, but my brain says Raceland, especially with the game being played there. I do believe that this will be a good game regardless of who wins. Good luck to both teams!

Statistical And Historical Tidbits

- Raceland leads the all-time series 17-5, including wins in the last 13 meetings.

- Paris last beat the Rams in 2001, which is also the last game between the two decided by less than two scores.

- Logan Lundy will be making his 37th start at quarterback for Raceland with a record so far of 30-6.

- The Rams like to spread the ball around, with thirteen different players scoring an offensive touchdown, compared to six for Paris.

- The Greyhounds have scored 10 touchdowns via kick return, pick-six, and scoop and score.

- Raceland's o-line needs to be sharp, because Paris has lived in the opponent's backfield this season, averaging 4 sacks and 14 tackles for loss per game.

We're in lockstep on the bolded. I'm all for something fresh in 1A, and a Paris win would be a jolt for our smallest class.

But Raceland has a lot of kids that have played a lot of football and they know how to handle their business, Highlands notwithstanding. And, as you said, it's at Raceland. They know how to create atmosphere and put on a show.

I expect the stage to be a little too big for Paris right now, but this experience will make them a handful in November.

Big Fan of what Paris is doing.

I think Paris will struggle with the physical style of Raceland. Game will be close early but Raceland will separate themselves late.

Raceland ball first.

Trick play on the first snap goes 54 yards to the Paris 8.

1st and goal Rams

Paris stiffens to force a FG attempt... kick is no good.
