I'd expect MSU to come after Stoops hard for this job when it inevitably comes open. 

It was not long ago Mel Tucker was signing a 10 year $95M contract with the Spartans.

As a UK fan,  perhaps I'm biased, but that doesn't really sound like much of a step up from Lexington.  Over the last 5 seasons UK is 40-23 vs. 30-25 for MSU.  Seems like at both schools he would be recruiting mostly against the same teams as he already does.  

I think the SEC is still the best conference so perhaps that has some pull.  I guess depending on how the new Big 20 or whatever they are up to now decides to realign it could make the path to a conference championship or playoff easier for Sparty.

I agree. I just think MSU will try to back up the Brinks truck for him.

It was just a matter of time until it happened. 

Another case of jumping to conclusions without evidence, this man deserves a legal jurisdiction.

He's been fired, but I'm guessing this story is FAR from over.

Seeing that Michigan is an "At-will" state, MSU is free to fire anyone at anytime for no reason. The only repercussions would be if they have to pay out any amount of the remaining contract. There really isn't anything to legally adjudicate as he, as of now, hasn't been charged with a crime. Of course he is free to sue MSU in civil court to get his entire contract paid off. That's about his only clear legal recourse, it would seem.

I don’t believe Stoops would leave Kentucky for Michigan State. At this point it would be a step backwards in my opinion. I also think that Stoops is happy overall at UK. It would take a more reputable program than Michigan State currently to take Stoops away.

He has turn around and suing Michigan State for wrongful termination.

That's a dumpster fire right now. He's at a place where 9-3 would be appreciated and with the expansion of the playoffs he might sneak in.....and the fan base would go nuts!!
