Bowling Green 42 Owensboro 28

Purples get the win in the heat. Lots to work on but never easy at Rash. I is a good team. They will be back. Good luck rest of the way

Nice win for BG!

Congrats to Purples! Great game. Came into Rash and punched the Devils in the mouth… I expect both teams to improve quite as bit as the season progresses… Owensboros offense has got to put it together for a whole game… Delacey has an arm and talent but chemistry with recievers(outside of Crowe) need some work still and his decision making has to improve. Can’t win games throwing 3+ interceptions. Throw it away or run!!. As for BG I don’t see how much improving you can do outside of not turning the ball over. Bailey picked the Devils apart all night. I’m scared to see that stat line. The BG defense was stout and aggressive all night and will only get better. BG will be scary good come playoffs.
I expect these two teams to meet again and have an epic playoff showdown come Nov. I just hope for the Devils sake it’s pouring rain that night.

Great bounce back win for BG in the road against a solid Owensboro team.

BG took their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter and it cost them some points in the scoring gap.

BG was pretty dominant tonight.

BG saw what everyone who is paying attention has seen from the Owensboro DB’s. They are Jolly Green Giant green!! Lining up wrong. Not knowing who has who. The coaches are going to have to make some decisions at corner and safety. On offense it just seems to never flow against good competition. And not just this year. The only year I’ve felt Owensboro had an offense that was ok being wide open was the year the QB transferred from Owensboro Catholic. Every other year it seems to be run, run, run, then pass. So far this year I’ve watched Mayfield,Boyle Co.,CAL,& BG come out and all run wide open offenses that have been very imaginative. Screens, double screens, reverses, hook and ladders, blah, blah, blah….when will OHS finally step into the now on offense?!?! The Hampton kid should be all over the field. Line him up in the slot. Put him at RB. Put him out wide. Put him in the wildcat. Find any way to get him the ball.(I thought OHS missed out by not using Carbon this way last year.) The Morris kid is the same way. He seems to only line up out wide. Move him in the slot and get him matched up on a Line Backer sometimes. They have to figure out a way to get the athletes the ball. All that being said I liked what I saw from the Crowe kid across the middle last night. He’s big and physical. He can be a great security blanket for the QB position as a slot/TE.

Bailey is unofficially credited as 17/21 for 320 yards and five touchdowns. Picked apart sounds about right.

Solid bounce back W over a good team. Owensboro didn't make it easy and left BG with things to continue to improve on.

I hope the young man from O who went off on the stretcher is OK and is nothing serious. Hate to see things like that.

I came away with thinking O has some really solid athletes and have quality guys up front. Their schedule is going to have them tested and IMO will only prove to be beneficial by years end.

On to next week!

Bailey had a great game but he missed his target on way more then 3 throws last night.

If it was way more than 3 I'd like to hear how many you are thinking, considering he had four incompletions all night...

I’m very happy with how BG responded last night, the offense looked awesome.  Everyone contributed.  The defense still has a ways to go, but did look improved last night, especially in their run defense.  Owensboro showed a lot of fight and came back towards the end.  I think both teams will continue to improve.

I’d also like to say I’m very refreshed to see BG throwing to the tight ends.  Matthew Klein has been awesome in the first two games.

I would say he went something like 17-27. There were several over throws down in the red zone. A couple passes dropped by his WR’s as well. No shade being thrown because as I said, Duece had a great game, but he didn’t go 17-21. There is a guy on FB named James Green who has a video of the game on his page. His page is a public page. Go watch the game. I saw it live and stayed for the whole game….

I don’t know who in 5A or anywhere that will be able to slow BG offense down.

For BG I don’t see a team in 5A that can keep up, and they will only improve their deficiencies.

We knew big time rebuilding for O.  Game 4 is against Catholic who had LCA beat in last year but ran out of time at the 1 yard line.

The biggest separation between these 2 teams is QB play. With an experienced consistent poised quarterback for O this game could have been closer. If you’re going to beat the Purples you have to move the ball consistently to keep Bailey off the field. I’m very impressed with Bailey kinda reminds me of Gavin Wimsatt, maybe even better. Purples will avg 45 plus a contest this season. I can’t wait until they play Boyle that will be a show down to see.
