Who will have better line play? I think that will be a pretty big factor in this game that no one really seems to be mentioning.

Good point - Not sure.  O has Lindsay and Williams - been starting since they were Freshman.

Outside of a few Red Devil fans I don’t think anybody in the state thinks we can win this game. For some reason Owensboro has beaten BG on a pretty consistent basis as of lately from grades 7- junior varsity but once that varsity level is reached we just can’t seem to climb that mountain that is BG. 

Just like @Purple88said, the Henderson and Greenwood wins were nice wins, but they aren't state championship level wins.  Owensboro wins most of the games in which the talent discrepancy is clear but when its close, the record hasn't been very good.  Since that nice win over a BG in 2018...

44-7 L to S Warren, 10-8 L to Evansville Central, 28-17 L to FD, 28-27 W over FD, 17-7 L to BG, 51-38 L to St X, 35-7 L to FD, 28-14 L to St X and 14-2 L to FD.  If you want to go back even further to 2015, they did score a nice win over Evansville Reitz 35-34 but lost 6 times to BG in that stretch plus a loss to Indiana state champion Mater Dei.  That makes for a 2-15 record vs state championship level programs since 2015.

I am not here to poo poo the football program at Owensboro.  I want them to win these types of games.  It makes things more fun! I know those are extremely tough games!  I've just become pretty jaded in believing they can win games against top competition.  Not trying to ruffle feathers.  I am just very results oriented guy.  Hope they can start a new streak this week!

With both teams starting the season with losses to lower class teams 2A(LCA) 3A(CAL). This game is a must win for both teams regarding RPI right? Assuming both teams are favorites in their districts and finish with similar records won’t this game be for home field in the playoffs round 2 or 3? Or am I way off? Too soon?

Yes.  I heard the sporting times crew state that at the LCA game.

BG just needs to tighten up some things. Playing in Rash is always extremely difficult, but I think the Purples are just solidly a better team than Owensboro right now.  BG wins by 14+, game should be competitive though.
