Absolutely right. Electrolyte management is also a must to optimize bloodflow and oxygenation to muscles and keep the leg cramps at bay, so we need to be putting more than water into our system when the weather is as brutal as it is today.

I agree EE.  Not that anyone cares what an old man like @theguru is doing but I am on my second helping of electrolytes right now in preparation for my outside workout today.  This is what I am having:

Going to go with my fellow Catholics and take the Blue Colonels in close one. Should be a good game.

It's not an everyday kind of thing, but they definitely have sold out games at David Cecil Memorial Stadium before, and my assumption is that the Cov Cath/Highlands probably accounts for a very large

I agree hydration is key every day.  I'm talking more about the KHSAA heat index threshold and at what point tonight it will be safe to play.  All the electrolytes in Ft. Thomas won't help with that.

If you have any student athletes at home I'd recommend keeping a pitcher of that mixed up and in the fridge at all times during the warmer months especially. It's a simple solution to a common problem.

Correct. All we can do is have bodies prepared, locked and loaded for when the weather allows us to get this one in.

I totally agree 100% about Pitzer. I’m not sure why he doesn’t get the love or recognition that other QBs in NKY receive?

(no means bashing Benke as he’s a heck of a player and one of NKYs best but Pitz seems smoother/poised)

I think it is because Pitz has been injured the last 2 years, had below average arm strength for an NKY starter until what he showed last Friday (could have been injury related) and I think he was square peg-round holed by the coaching staff for 2 years. What AJ Mayer and Caleb Jacob did well (push the ball down the field) isn’t Pitz’s game. It’s more being accurate in the short and intermediate areas and creating off schedule with his above average athleticism.

I think we were able to find a more of a happy medium of what EE wants to do and what Pitz is good at week 1 and hope we continue that the rest of the year.

Not sure how many schools allow water bottles at school, but St. X allows it and I always tell kids to try and drink a bottle every other class. Being well hydrated not only helps with performance but also reduces chances of injury.

Big game for each team for seeding purposes at the end of the year.

This game doesn't have anything to do with seeding since these schools are now in different classes. Cov Cath choose to drop down to 4A, Highlands is in 5A.

Do you think CovCath is ducking Highlands by "choosing" to drop to 4A?

With a very obvious block in the back on the safety that wasnt called that's very possible.

How come your the only one that saw that obvious block in the back? ?

No harm meant. Just stating the runner was a burner.

I'm taking Cov Cath in a fantastic game.  I like what I saw in the balanced play calling last week by the Colonels.  The DBs are healthy and they have fantastic LBs with Flood and Kruer and they also have some experience up front with Reeves.  Home field advantage and heat aside Ill take the Colonels by 8.
