With Great Expectations, The Jags Pack Their Bags, Bound For Bardstown

Records: Season opener for both

Series History: First ever meeting

Burning Questions: Is Cooper for real? They looked the part scrimmaging Beechwood. Week 1 won't divulge the whole truth all at once, but it may tease us with peak at the Jags' potential if they can win impressively against last year's 3A runner-up. Can Austin Alexander and Jack Lonaker contain Tyleeq Williams? The Tigers can put "TyTy" anywhere on the field - backfield, slot, returning kicks - and he's as lethal in space as anyone in the state. He'll stretch the gaze of Cooper's defensive stars from sideline to sideline.

Calpreps has Bardstown better by 1.5 pts. I'll take Cooper since they had good performance against Beechwood in scrimmage.

  • I hear you.  I am sitting here in the white, ivory tower drinking Jag-Aid. I measured the distance between my location and Cooper high school and Google maps says 2.99 miles.

This could be one of the best first week games. Both squads have some really good players and both coaching staffs will be prepared.

Not saying anything not already apparent from HUDL film, but the Tigers did not pass rush or defend the pass worth a flip against Lexington Catholic. If the threads are to be believed, this could well be a Jaguar romp.

Bardstown started the season winning 14 in a row last year now they could be on a two game losing streak after this game I’m sure that will not make the faithful happy.

Bardstown should be a really good team again this year. This should be a very good game.

I like Cooper big and would be surprised if this is a very good game.

While I agree Bardstown will be good I’m just saying after winning 14 in a row they could possibly now be on a 2 game losing streak.

What scoring margin for you would constitute a good game?

Something two TDs or less.

I agree, I look for Cooper to win by at least a few touchdowns.
