Lol don’t do garrard like that

Whoever they go with will be an uphill battle.  Better option than the local "daddy ball" people I've heard.

Ryan Young was the best coach they've had in a while at Garrard. Playing in that district is a hard sale to anyone I'm sure.

I mean not really, they have teams that can compete in the district most years. Keep Boyle from taking your kids year in and year out and this years season looks a lot different. ? Kasey will suc

  • They tried everything they could do to keep Quisenberry in the past (he coached every sports team he played on), and still chose to leave to greener pastures.  I don't think hiring a dad is the play.

I agree they probably have more parent coaches than anyone in the area. They also keep bringing back former players that was in the system. Someone needs to realize that parents for former players don't always make the best coaches. They have to start pushing for a different approach to improve the situation.

Go with him if you want.  Come back on here 5 years from now let us know how it went.

I don't care who they go with.  I think they could do worse than an established coach with experience.  Garrard doesn't have anyone stay 5 years anyways ?

Over the last twenty-five years they've had eleven different coaches. Only Scott Bolin (2004-07) and Brandon Cooper (2011-12, 2020-23) were former players at Garrard. I'd say there are a lot of schools in Kentucky who've had more alumni for longer times as coach.

Sadly, true. Only four ever:

  • Dale Moore (1964-70; 1986-87)
  • Wade Upchurch (1973-80)
  • Dave McDaniel (1987-90; 1994-97)
  • Cecil Combs (1997-2004)

I'm sure Noe is a good coach but I'm pretty sure they are not wanting anymore daddy ball at Garrard. I would go after a young coach like Danville assistant girls coach Tryston Ford.

I don't claim to know everything, but I've heard from some very reliable sources this one is a done deal. I'm not going to reveal anything else because if I throw the name out it narrows down who could've said it immensely.

Any news on potential candidates for this opening?

I'm still hearing the person I eluded to who was out of state is the frontrunner. Things have certainly gone quiet, not very many rumors past that one. Very quiet over the past week.

Brandon Bargo - Believe he has stops at Berea College, Union College, and I think currently at Barbourville HS.

Alot Better choice than what we heard couple weeks ago.

I've heard interviews haven't even been conducted yet, just phone calls, so anything being spread is rumor only. I'd say it's down to a guy with a whole lot of wins under his belt, or a fresh face that is local to the area now.

Is Coach Mckinney from Danville in play here?  They lose a big SR class, and already 2 returning starters to crosstown Boyle Co...
