Spencer Steer

Spencer Steer with the bomb was the highlight for the Reds.

Bryson Scott with two hit with one RBI for the winners.

Alexis Diaz was bad today.

Yep, just another day at the office.

Blowing 2 run leads in the bottom of the 9th is rough.

Yeah, but pretty common for the Reds bullpen.

Sunday - What's wrong with this picture???

Walker  $70 million over four years vs Overton - Off of the waiver wire.

As I watch our fundamentally unsound team play, I can't help but ask myself - What would Mac do???  Referring to Harrison County longtime, HOF Head Coach, Mac Whitaker.

Earlier in the week both the first baseman and the pitcher charged the same bunted ball, and no one covered first base.  I honestly think Mac would have pulled the first baseman, right then and there.

I think if Mac were in charge, the "Get 'em next time" attitude would exit the clubhouse,  and people would be held accountable.  Bell's milk toast persona is a big part of this team's issue.

What would Mac do????

Yep, how long have I said, it's time to move on past Bell.

Given the circumstances though, david bell did a great job handling it in my opinion. Diaz is your best reliever by far, hadn’t pitched in 6 days, struck out the side in the 8th. You bring him back out in 9th 10 outta 10 times in that situations. Just unfortunate that it didn’t work out.

Mac wouldn’t last a week in the Reds clubhouse. He’s had a great high school coaching career, but his style won’t work at the pro level with modern day players over a long season.

I agree. Mac’s style doesn’t even work at the HS level now. He had a great run in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s but the rest of the region caught up quickly. Even during his run he was winning a mostly bad baseball region and a really bad district, of course that is non-factor if you win the whole darn state.

1 regional title since 2010. He holds a ton of records and knows the game inside and out but it isn’t what it once was in Cynthiana. Ky HS baseball fans will forever put him on that throne though (mostly rightfully so).
