I would not give him a raise. Mixon averaged less than 4 yards a carry.  It is too easy to find running backs with the way games are played in today's NFL. Running backs are a dime a dozen. An example of that is the Titans will let Derek Henry walk this year.

In today's NFL, the WR is the must have. The WR is getting close to having as much value as the QB. Not saying WR should get paid like QB's, but you need stud WR's in today's NFL.

I am pretty sure he is under contract for next year.

And next year, I want Chase Brown to take carries away from Mixon.

I wanted that to happen this year.

As far as the contract goes, he is under contract for next year but he can still be cut with minimal financial penalty.

Mixon was the 14th highest paid RB at the start of this season. The Bengals already have their stud WR. They already have their franchise QB. They can afford to pay Mixon more.

Mixon is probably around the 14th best RB in the NFL, putting that salary right on target.

I was going to jump in but Deuce already got it.  I didn't know the numbers but I watch RedZone every week ? and I thought Mixon was a top ten NFL RB this year and nothing will get me off of that.

Mixon had a good season. I like him and Brown at RB next year. I want at least 50 fewer carries for Mixon and 50 more for Brown- at a minimum.

I would like to see an even split between Brown and Mixon in 2024.

I think my source included QBs.

Mixon was fine, but his days as a top tier RB are at least two years behind him. I'm with you in wanting to see Brown more.
