Mixon had a great game for the Texans.  159 yards and a TD.  AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Can't recall the Bengals ever giving him 30 carries in a game.   If that's going to be his workload on a weekly basis, it will be interesting to see if he makes it 17 games.

This was his career high for carries in a game.

I think Mixon can do that when he is fresh/completely healthy but beyond that anything over 20 is too much.  Either way, it was a great start for Mixon in Texas.

Hopefully he's able to play if not this week, then the following week. I'd hate to see his season derailed by missing an extended amount of time.

I was watching the game last night and I was like here we go.   I was glad to see him come back but he wasn't the same.  Hopefully he heals quick.

That tackle was the definition of a hip drop tackle. I can't believe the refs missed calling it.

How about Joe Mixon last night?

The former Cincinnati Bengals RB tied a Houston Texans record with three rushing TD's in their 34-10 win over the Cowboys.

He rushed 20 times for 109 yards, including a 45-yard TD. He added two catches for 44 yards. 

Houston coach DeMeco Ryans told ESPN:

"Joe, when he's on, he's a force for us. The run game starts with our offensive line. I challenged them to play fast, play aggressive. I thought they did a really nice job. I really like the way we just kept churning it in the run game, and proud of the guys for stepping up to the challenge."

Mixon: "It was a great thing to see the O-line pretty much go out there and impose their will. ... It was a time in the fourth quarter when the [offensive line] was like, 'Man, let's take it to these boys.' And I'm like, 'redacted' I went to [Texans offensive coordinator] Bobby Slowik and I'm like, 'Man, them boys trying to run it.'"

According to ESPN Research, 79 of Mixon's 109 rushing yards came before contact, including him going untouched on a 45-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, which was the longest score of his career. This was Mixon's sixth straight game with a rushing touchdown, tying the longest streak in Texans history set by former All-Pro running back Arian Foster in 2011.

Mixon became the third player in NFL history to have at least 10 rushing touchdowns in his first eight games with a new team, and the first since running back Eric Dickerson in 1983 with the Los Angeles Rams, according to ESPN Research.

Season stats: 764 yards, 4.5 yards per carry, 10 TD. 

On-pace for 1,181 yards and 15 TD.

He ran wild lastnight! 

I am putting this here because Joe Mixon is having a great year for the Texans, good job Joe.  We all know Chase Brown has been awesome for us, Who Dey!

Good example of what the Bengals need to do moving forward. Same production for $5M less salary.

For now, anyway. They'll have to (or somebody will) pay Chase, too. ?  When is his contract up?

Two more years for Brown? 

This is the way it goes in the NFL. Kansas City is the model. They have their core 3-5 true stars that they pay. They let other high level star players go and don't sign them e.g. Tyreke Hill and Orlando Brown. They replaced Clyde Edwards-Helaire, their starting RBA couple years ago, with Isaac Pacheco - younger, cheaper and better.  They basically let their secondary leave but look at their defense now a couple years later. They drafted well and put younger, faster, cheaper players in their place and the defense is now the reason why KC is the #1 seed. They have 5 or 6 players they are paying above $5M - Mahomes, Kelce, Thuney, Chris Jones, safety Justin Reid, CB Sneed and Taylor (the OT they paid instead of Orlando Brown). Pay your stars that almost guarantee a winning record then fill in the roster through the draft and some experienced free agents.

The Bengals are paying too much to the wrong guys. I say all these players are overpaid on the Bengals - BJ Hill, Hubbard, Cappa, Stone, Hilton, Pratt. Pay the top end that are winning games for you - Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Hendrickson and they are stuck with Brown (worth it if healthy but health is proving an issue). Then they have to be better at drafting players to fill out the roster on cheap salaries and try to find a top notch player or two in every draft. 

And for all those old timers who say the Bengals are cheap - the Bengals are paying their roster more than the Chiefs are paying their roster.
