Great time at Rupp yesterday, felt some old fashioned UK dominance in the arena. Keep on winning games they should and let’s see what happens.

I personally think if UK can win out that they’ll get it. I don’t feel like A&M beats Bama in that last game.

Texas A&M locks up the two seed if they beat Mississippi this week. So their result against Bama wouldn’t change anything for UK, if A&M beats Mississippi.

I agree. I have been impressed with Wallace since day 1. He gets it done on both ends of the floor. Best UK freshman since __________?

To me he is the best freshman UK has had since the 2019 elite 8 team that had Tyler Herro, and Keldon Johnson.

I looked at the standings after they’d updated but assumed they hadn’t yet, so I was thinking UK was one game back. You’re right, they basically have no real shot in that case.

UK needs to keep winning to help their NCAA chances. UK is up to #29 in the net rankings which puts them at an 8 seed. That means in round 2 of the NCAA tournament they would play a 1 seed. If UK wins a few more they can get to a 7 seed which puts them in the opposite bracket of the 1 seed. They would play a 2 seed in round 2. Big difference IMO.

Amazing isn’t it when you hard hedge and fight over ball screens how much more physical it makes your team not only defensively but also offensively and how much better you play offensively!

UK is number 20 in the NET. Which I agree it is important to avoid the 1 seed in the second round. I think UK has a chance to get a lot better seed than what a lot of bracketology people are saying. UK today would probably be a 6 seed IMO.

UK probably will be ranked in the top 25 in the polls now too. So if UK wins both games this week. Then make a run to at least the finals of the conference tournament. UKs resume legit could put them as a 5 seed, and an outside shot at a 4 seed depending how everything shakes out.

Considering UK also has had a lot of success through the year defensively playing it the way Cal usually plays it. It’s hard to say one way is better than the other when UK has always been know for hard tough defense under Cal. With that said, no argument that changing how he does defense this year, is definitely much better for this group of players and has made a huge difference. It’s been fun to watch!

I think UK today would be a 7 seed. Beat Vandy and lose at Arkansas they probably stay around the 7-8 range. If they win one SEC tournament game that probably puts them in the 6-7 range and two wins puts them in the 5 range. Winning or losing the SEC finals has proven to not matter as the brackets are pretty much locked down before that game is over.

In mine and most people's opinions it is imperative to avoid the 8-9 slot.

I definitely think as of today they are no longer in the 8 slot. I think it is more either the 6 or 7 slot right now. UKs resume has suddenly started to look pretty good.

I do agree that winning or losing the conference championship means very little based off history. So basically Iock up that 3 seed this week, and then win two in the conference tournament and would be a 5 or 6 seed then IMO.

I agree with all this. Beating Arkansas would be huge. That should get them to a 6  seed.

Just now finished watching the game. What a butt kicking. Loved how aggressive KY seemed and under control at the same time.

Really loving the rebounding trio of late between Oscar, Toppin and Tshiebwe.

Let's keep it rolling Wednesday!

One negative thing I will say about the game, which is tough to even focus on when they won by the margin they did, I bet Cal lit them up for the number of offensive rebounds given up in the first half.

The bolded was suppose to say through the years. Obviously this year his normal defensive approach wasn’t working. So the change was needed for this years team.
