Kentucky 66 Tennessee 54

Final a great all-around game for the Cats and a much needed win. The Cats let them hang around with the FT misses. They got no closer than 10 in the 2nd half.

Big win. Had the Kentucky ML today. Last time they played each other was the day my dad passed, so felt like he was gonna be on their side today. Livingston is really playing well lately. Le

It must be said that Cal coached a very good game today. He did a nice job with the game plan and the rotation. He did a couple good matchup moves, especially later in the game. Good game Coach Cal.

The strength of the win cannot be understated.  Kentucky needed this win - needed this whole week.  It's still such a shame they blew the games against South Carolina and Georgia, because frankly now they'd be comfortable getting in IMO.  But they've checked quite a few of the boxes they needed to.

That looked a lot more like a Cal UK team. Excellent defense. UT only scored 54. Closed it out down the stretch.

Great win! Both offensively and defensively very solid. Free throw shooting in second half obviously wasn’t great, but other than that great job today!

If Cal would’ve changed his ballscreen defense philosophy like he should’ve a lllooonnngg time ago to what they’re doing now this team would be 21-6, 22-5, maybe even 23-4

I think he was able to change that when he changed who he was playing. The key is who he is putting on the floor now.

So is this evidence of what Kentucky can be this year or are they just a bad matchup for Tennessee?

The best time to have made the change would have been in December. But the second best time was when he did.  Better late than never.

Three of the four remaining games for UK are Quad 1 games. Win 2 of the 3 quad one games, beat Vandy at home and UK is not only in but moving up to a much better seed.

Let's get Florida next and keep it rolling!

I actually think there is still a good amount of room for improvement. I think Thiero will get better if he keeps getting minutes. Wallace and Livingston have more to give as they keep getting experience. We need to tweak the rotation a little and cut a couple minutes off of each of their time and that will make them better. Collins can add a little more but he isn't going to get many more minutes.

To echo MJ and VoR, Livingston is playing very SOLID ball the last few games. Missed a few FT today, but otherwise he's been playing really really well on both ends. Him playing well puts a lot of pressure on other teams defending us.

Take the win and hopefully move forward.
