Someone posted this in a Bengals group, I have no idea if it is accurate or not:

The Bengals have confirmed Joe Burrow has a strained calf. The question now is, what grade? Grade II calf injuries can take 2-4 weeks. Grade III strains can take up to 3 months.

KAT was out 4 months if memory serves.

Well that confirms it. If you want to get a lot of money out of the Bengals your last name needs to be Brown.

The Googler says that a grade 2 is the most common.  ? If all goes well, Joe makes it back in 4 weeks and is able to take some preseason snaps on August 26th like he'd been hoping to.

On a side note,  my birthday is August 24th and I'd be happy if that was the only gift I got this year, a healthy Joe Burrow.

I hope it is minor.  I would hate to get into the same situation we were in last year where Burrow wasn't ready and the Bengals weren't ready when the season started.

Agreed 100%.  We are also aware of how talented this team is and how quickly that Super Bowl window can close.

I’m in Jamaica and can hear the gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands from here.

Did you see my reflection off the moon?  I was standing right where you picked me up last time.

Weeping

Not yet and hopefully not at all.

I've strained both of mine over the years.  Never went to the doc so don't know the severity of what I had.  It was crazy sore for 2-3 days.  I felt it another couple of weeks.  Back to beer league softball in about 3 weeks. Interestingly,  I never had another issue after I strained them once.

From ESPN.

Breaking: Joe Burrow is expected to be sidelined for "several weeks" due to his calf injury, Bengals’ head coach Zac Taylor told reporters.

These ultimately come down to how well the player responds to treatment. Several weeks can become several months.
