It was reported that was the largest margin of victory ever in a KOB final. That was definitely the best I’ve seen Warren Central play this year.

Love watching this team. The rebounds, assists and TOs stick out to me in this game. GC needs to focus the offense more on Moreno.

I thought the length and athleticism of GC would be a problem for WC, but almost immediately it was clear that Warren Central was tougher, more physical and frankly better coached.  At least today.  The Unseld kid, a good 6-7 inches shorter than Moreno, put his foot in the ground and claimed the block, and usually several feet out from it.  And Moreno couldn’t move him, at least not often.  So the offense couldn’t work through the post, and quickly devolved into settling for perimeter jumpers.  Warren Central was just tougher, especially on the defensive end, and I got the impression, or idea at least, that Great Crossing probably overwhelms most teams with length, and when that didn’t happen…..they really had no plan B.  Fairly early they looked resigned.

Fourth game in four days so you never know how it will turn out, but Warren Central absolutely looks the part of the best team in the state. Too bad there's not a scheduled regular season game between the Dragons and Covington Catholic.

I've said all year Warren Central was the best team in the Commonwealth, and maybe by a bunch.

I saw them play in the Marshall co. hoop fest. They were very impressive.

Warren Central will be a very difficult out this season.  They have all the pieces to win it all.

4 wins in 4 days is not easy against very good competition.  Congrats on the KOB win!

In reviewing the game this morning, one thing struck me:

Great Crossing won the tip, and took the lead on their first possession.  Central hit a three ten seconds later - they'd never trail again.  Great Crossing's next possession was the last one in which they had a chance to take the lead.  After a miss, Central hit a basket to extend their lead to three.  Great Crossing's next possession was the last one in which they even had a chance to tie the game.  By their fourth possession they would trail by two possessions every time they touched the ball the rest of the game - not even a fluke foul on a made three pointer plus free throw would have tied the game in a single possession.  That was pretty remarkable to me.

For the tournament, Central shot 55.14% from the field (118/214), and averaged 74 PPG.  They hit 47.7% from three (32/67).  They held their opponents to 43.3% from the field and 35.23% from three - they allowed only 56.25 PPG.  No Dragon opponent has scored 60+ points in the last 22 games.  Just an awesome performance in every facet.

Saw them play last year in state tourney. They play great as a team. can tell they’re actually coached and made to play defense. Watching them play defense was the most impressive thing imo.
